Is any old X360 controller compatible with a PC?

I was thinking about grabbing a new controller, specifically this one. I have doubts about the fans/leds and such, but would it work with a PC? Never used an xbox controller with a PC before.

PS: I do like mouse and keyboard, but some people in my house prefer controllers. If any of them ever used my rig to play a console game better than they could on the TV downstairs, they wouldn't like the kbrd & mouse.

EDIT: Had no idea which forum this would fit on, this seemed closest next to the xbox360 forum.

Yea it should work if it's wired, but for wireless controllers you need a wireless hub. But that one looks like it should definately work.

EDIT: Was just checking out that controller and it looks really cool !!

It should be fine, it's wired so you shouldn't have any problems.

Don't post this on the xbox forum you'll inevitably get flamed for it.

Why not just get a regular, official Microsoft wired controller? Aftermarket controllers almost always break in 6 months or less.

Thought I'd try something new - I've been using the vanilla controller for several years now and have never used a controller with a PC so I would like to give it a try with this one.
