Is anyone else getting new, amazing performance results with Vista SP1?

Okay, first of all I have an 8600GT!!!!!!

Before SP1, I could run Crysis at Medium with 20 FPS. Now, I'm running it with 60 FPS, and at no other quality setting than... Very High!! I could not believe it, so I decided to benchmark. It turns out that SP1 re-optimizes 8600GTs to work with Crysis!

So to any of you fellow lucky 8600GT owners, were you surprised or what?!

I'll trade you my 8800 for your 8600 ;)

I have heard a lot of people say SP1 helps performence a lot, this seems a bit to much.

I'd show a pic but... SP1 removes all picture funtionality. try it with digital camera, and it ruins the cam. So sorry, but it's true.

Sweet! i'm gonna get an 8600gt soon! but yeah, i didnt see any performance increase with my crappy intel gma 950 :/ but it did free up like 15gigs of space.;)error11

Have a GTX and game at 1920x1200 res. I had to play on high. Very high is just too much for a single GPU.

Have a GTX and game at 1920x1200 res. I had to play on high. Very high is just too much for a single GPU.

That sounds about right. And it makes me think twice if I ever plan on getting some ungodly huge monitor. :P

You've obviously never used a 8600GT before then, because I have an EVGA 256MB 8600GT with a Atholon 5000+ X2 and I can run Crysis on all medium settings just fine (1440x900). I wouldn't need more than a 8600GT anyways, as all of my other games run at max settings (1440x900) such as Unreal 3 and Bioshock.

Yeah, I know, but an ungodly huge monitor is so freaking awesome to have. I just can't go back to anything smaller. Next step is connecting my PC to my TV, but that'll have to wait 'til I move this fall. Then I'll make a movie/gaming room. Droool.
