Is ATI really better than Nvidia for AMD systems???? I'm looking at the Nvidia 260 core 216, and the ATI 4870. Which is best for my system? Also, if I go for the Nvidia 260 should I wait for the Nvd 295 to come out on Jan 8th, as this may bring the price of the 260 down some, or will it?

My specs:

CPU: Socket AM2 AMD Atholon 64 x2 4600+ Dual-core CPU w/ HyperTechnology.

MOBO: (socket AM2) Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe nForce 590 Sli MCP chipset DDR2/800 mboard with Dual 16x PCI-Express.

RAM:2x 1GB PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory (Corsair XMS2 Xtreme memory.)

HDD: 600GB(300 X2) SATA-II 3.0GB/S 16M CACHE 7200RPM HD

Current GFX card: Nvidia Geforce 7950 gx2, 1gb ddr, 16x PCI-e

PSU: Aspire 600w psu

Thank you!!!

For your system it doesn't matter. Only certain motherboards now have hybrid SLI or Crossfire where the video card can work with onboard video to produce slightly better performance. As for price, the general trend is, the longer you wait the cheaper it will get because of either a) production costs are reduced, b) demand goes down, or c) object becomes replaced. It might go by down, but by how much is not yet clear.

I'm also thinking about upgrading my CPU to a AMD Phenom X4 9950+ black edition as this supposedly works with my Asus mobo. With this processor which gpu is better (look above). Also, are there any good mobo/cpu combo deals out there incase I decide to update my mobo too.
