Crysis has been praised for quite a while now. I never even thought of buying the game because it had so called 'aliens'. I dont like horror games which scare the hell out of me. I like human enemies(bots) more than extra-terrestrial ones.

Two questions here:

1. Are the aliens scary  or fun ;) to battle? Is it more or less like farcry, lonely, in some god-forsaken zombie land where every one will eat you alive if you are seen or heard?

2. Are there any buddies to fight with you? or at least move around with you(I dislike lonely FPS games)

The campaign mode is really good. Most of it will be on your own but occasionally there will be a comrade with you (npc). Most of the enemy are humans of korean descent but later in the game you will fight with aliens. They're not scary at all but they are a bit weird to be honest. The multiplayer part of the game is good as you can have regular deathmatches or team battles where you have to take over an island. You won't be disappointed with this game, I assure you. The graphics are astounding.

:| Crysis has no zombies and it isn't even horror not even once. In Crysis your a SpecOps assigned to recue some hostages in an island, you fight KPA (Korean People's Army).

The aliens can be scary only in the level when you're inside the mountain at gravity zero, sometimes you don't notice them and they tend to like sneaking up from behind. You'll be too busy looking at the scenario to really be scared of them anyway, graphically it's the most stunning and fascinating level *ever* made up to now imo. It's a real shame those buggers take a whole loader to die, being at gravity zero they are incredibly agile.

It is lonely, you only rarely meet allies but they don't really fight with you, they just give the impression they do by shooting randomly where the enemy is.

The game is pretty much a solo fight. You only get to fight alongside people the odd once or twice and its very brief. The aliens aren't meant to be scary, they're futuristic.

The game can be scary at times ... it keeps you tense and on the edge of your seat when battling those aliens.

It's not scary at all, and you're pretty much on your own. You meet up with your squad at various intervals to move the story along, and they talk to you over radio, but at no point are you fighting alongside them in a team.

Aliens are in what form?(some details please)jorjdboss

The ones you'll encounter the most look pretty much like a metallic octopus with a bit more geometrically squared and bigger head.

The alien warship looks much like Starcraft's Command Center  . The ones in the mountain, instead, look like Warcraft's Nagas, maybe a bit less muscular and a bit more slimy.

well they are slimy like ghosts and they "literary" fly around make it almost impossible to hit them in the core level, there are also some that look like those machines in the matrix movies, they take alot of shots and dodge attacks all the time and they remind me of octupus... they can attack while moving and its possible that a single attack can kill you.....very freakign annoying.

Crysis is one of the best FPS games to come out in the past decade. Hell, it's just one of the best FPSes on the PC period. It has fantastic enemy AI (which admittedly can be a little buggy here and there), lots of unique features like real time weapon customisation and the Nanosuit itself, which gives you several different options to tackle obstacles and enemies. That and you can use the enviroment to you advantage, near enough everything in the game world is interactive, making it possible for you to shoot down trees, which will the crush enemy vehicles. Or stealth into an enemy base, find the kitchen, pick up a frying pan and beat enemies to death with it. Or you can throw turtles at people.

What this guy said. If you're a dumb gamer and always need scripted events because you have no idea what to do, then don't get it. If you want a game where you decide what you do, then get it

I didn't find it scary at all, but I have only found one game truly scary........System Shock 2

FEAR was more creepy and tense, but it had its moments.

Yeah, Crysis wasn't scary in the slightest, and it didn't try to be either. I mean, the Alien Ship level was kinda creepy at times, but overall it wasn't a scary game. Fear on the other hand helped me develop a phobia of girls with psychic powers.

Are there any moments in crysis where you can just relax and explore. Or is it just 'see any motion, shoot at it' I liked oblivion, you can choose whether to mow you enemy down from the front or sneak up behind him.

Most of the levels in Crysis are very wide open, and you can go and explore them if you want. There isn't much to find though, other than other routes to your goal and a few places filled with ammo.

Coz every one may not like it when fictional beings attack you and you have to fight them alone. I like reality more than fiction, like in far cry 2 or call of duty series or gta iv.

violence is not a question to be raised in an FPS game. blood, gore, violence, strong language etc are a core part of successful titles. All the above factors need not make the game scary at all, you know what I mean. An action movie need not be scary at all.

no crysis is not scary.

and im glad someone agrees with me about farcry being scary. tho, as you say, its more the loneliness.

i wasn't scared once in crysis. its a great game, thankfully the aliens are only in the last bit, and no, theyre not scary. there is one part inside the ship, which some might consider scary, i was a little on edge but not much more. not like in half life 2!

Crysis and Warhead aren't "scary", or realy thought -even in delta mode is like a walk compared to Far Cry in realist mode-. Yes, you can be beated if you try to engage against two patrols of KPA soldiers at time, or being surrounded by five aliens, but as long as you fight correctly, you can trample without problems.

Aliens aren't as powerfull as in Far Cry trigens which can kill you in two hits at 5 mts -well, the must come closer in Crysis but still can kill in 2 hits ^^-, but this time you have regeneration, quick save, and you can kill almost any enemy except vehicles and big aliesn with a single punch in strenght mode or two shotgun shots.

In fact, if you have problems with "scary" games, the most problematic thing in Crysis will not be the aliens -they die fast-, but yhe special forces from KPA, that can use the same optic camouflage than you, and attack faster as the "invisible ninjas" in F.E.A.R. games. Anyway, fighting against 4 soldiers with supersuits at night in the graveyard was one of the most funny things in the game:
