I am ALMOST done with Crysis (probably 30 minutes at most I am guessing, left) and I am wondering, is there a big reason to play Warhead now, mainly in terms of story? I am definitely buying Crysis 2 and I really enjoyed Crysis (although it has some issues). Thanks for the help guys! Poll added for fun :P.

From what I understand Warhead seems as important to the Crysis story as Half-Life: Opposing Force or Blue Shift did - they were more game but didn't seem to impact much. What I've seen of Crysis 2, it doesn't seem very connected to the first game other than having the suit/powers, aliens and Prophet.

Psycho the koreans have a box, follow it, There is an alien in the box, steal it. There, now you don't need to play it for the story.

Crysis Wars is the online part in Warhead. If you're strictly talking about Warhead's SP, it's short and much more optimized than Crysis 1. I didn't like both Crysis's story though, hopefully Crysis 2 will be good :P

Crysis is basically Farcry Redux; aka there is not much story / the story is not important. That aside, Warhead is a better game than Crysis, so I'd get it for that reason.

They're both great. Except that Warhead is 10 times shorter.

I prefer the original Crysis due to it being a lot more strategic.

I think they wanted to explore Psycho's character and possibly make him important later on in the trilogy. Also, it was a demonstration to show that the game can be run on a $600 computer. Lots of action in Warhead since it's shorter and it has to pack everything in compared to Crysis where you can explore the environment to a certain extent.

I would say it would be worth it but since Crysis 2 is just around the corner, I'd wait for that unless you have some extra spending money. I mainly got Warhead for Crysis Wars and it was really fun. Power Struggle felt like a lot Battlefield.

Both are great, but Crysis is clearly better. Warhead is more run and gun, less tactical and way shorter, though Crysis Wars is incredibly fun and is more than enough reason to get the game. If you're worried about securon, all EA titles(and many others) that use securom on retail, have the DRM removed when you buy them through steam which them uses Steams own DRM, which is infinitely less intrusive and more flexible.

Crysis is the better game but Warhead has a train level. You can even jump off the train then use speed to catch up to it and hop back on, all the while fighting enemies on the train and that attack you from the surrounding environment.

If you are playing Crysis for the story, you are doing it wrong.

or better yet grow up and deal with it.. i dont give a fart about securom or any other form of DRM tbh.. ubisofts old one was bad i agree but did it stop me from enjoying a couple of games.. pssh hardly

im sorry but if you eed to fuss over the DRM of a game over its quality or presentation or fun factor.. you got your priorities all out of order.

I have no idea how Warhead's is, but I feel like people blow those kind of things WAY out of proportion. I bought Riddick which has TAGES and so far I have not even seen what it is doing :P.

I loved Crysis Warhead, enough to prefer it over Crysis - the game is more refined, better optimised, and the gameplay is more fun & guns blazing.

Its simple: If you like Crysis, you will like Warhead.

Warhead pushes you into the action more than Crysis, and the fights have less freedom. The games are equally good.

Incorrect. Check the Steam store page for Crysis Warhead, and you clearly see "3rd-party DRM:SecuROM™ 5 machine activation limit". The fact that I cannot get the game without Securom is the reason I haven't played it to this day.

EA has an uninstall program for warhead in their downloads area that refunds your activation.

Yes, but that only works if you use that program to do the uninstall. A lot can go wrong preventing you from doing so. Your hard drive may go bad or your windows installation may become corrupted, for example.

Securom will never be on my computers, nor any DRM with installation limits.

The story of Warhead runs parallel with the story of Crysis, but instead focuses on Psycho. You don't need to buy it for the story, because it's basically just a side story that amplifies the plot of the first game a bit. And as someone else already said, Crysis shouldn't be played for story anyway.

However, from a gameplay point of view I'd definitely recommend it. It's not as good as the first Crysis, mainly because it's shorter and a bit more linear for the most part, but it's still a great shooter. Additionally, the last mission probably is the best mission in any Crysis game.

Story wise is the same from another perspective, but as character development Syko beats Nomad and gameplay wise Warhead is more intense and let you to use new toys as EMP grenades, mines and claymores in the sp campàign. Crysis Wars also is way better than the original mp (autodownloading of custom maps, doubles the mumber of original maps, etc.).
