good thing i don't have a mic.its good but for me just too hard lol. Some people are just amazing on this game. If like me your skill level is probably below average it really isn't that much fun after a while.
Some people seem to go out of their way to harrass newbies too. Verbaly.

Cool coincidence. I actually installed CSS like 2 days ago and have been playing it a lot. I love it cuz its a somewhat old game so it loads up fast and you can get into the action quickly. I would say it does have a lot of experienced players so there will be frustrations with constant headshots on you. But it is a fair game and you will have fun. Considering each match only takes 3-5min max (Estimate) so you will revive and head back to action again pretty quickly. I've been having a lot of fun.
Few tips; join a small populated server (10-16 people) so you wont get swarmed and maybe start off in a server that restricts AWP (Sniper rifle) because as I said, there are some experienced people and they do get some amazings shots.
Almost all shooters i am prety good at online, but Counterstrike Source isnt one of them lol
I still enjoy playing Counterstrike Source alot though, definatly takes a few months ot get decent, but could take years to get on the level as some of the people who play this game. FOr me personally its the one shooter i can play and get a REAL challenge
CSS is a game that appears to be simple, while the core mechanics of the game ARE simple. The shooting mechanics are anything but, most games show you how to use weapons effectively. In CS/CSS everything is invisible. Probably the most regular occuring mistake I see players make is that they think as long as they have the crosshair on an enemy and shoot, it should hit. This isn't the case, while it is true for most fps (cod4 comes to mind as you can jump and do whatever as long as your sights are on target).
In CSS you really have to forget most things you do in other fps, start over, and when you get killed... try to learn from your mistakes, instead of saying bs. If you are dying heaps, don't keep doing the same thing, imitate what other better players do, if you take on a "what im doing is right, you're just bs" mentality, you will never get better.
Start playing on pubs for a few months, then try to join a beginner's clan that SCRIMS LOTS. You will get a lot better by playing in scrims, don't worry about getting rolled by better teams. It is better to play better teams and lose, than to play randies, win and not learn anything out of it.
I think you're being a bit harsh on cod4.Since i'm playing it for some time now i can tell you that "just having the opponent" in your sights wont do.Plenty of things can be a factor to miss or kill him.If you only consider the"kicking" of the guns it can get pretty hard, let's say,to get a headshot. (let's say, trying a headshot from 300 meters with an AK AND equiped with the red dot to make it easier...)
There are more things but i'll keep this reply short.
I haven't played CSS,i've only seen it in videos etc.Maybe i should try it and make the comparisson.
CS:S is easy cake compared to CS1.6 source is more noob oriented than CS1.6 .... IN B4 I suck: i dont care if you dont agree your dead wrong. I dont suck at either and ive been playing since 1.5 ... its a plain fact. No source isnt tough its just a game that unlike todays shooters ... just takes SKILL and TIME ... you cant wade in and be pro ... it takes time and effort to learn how and the best ways to play. Hope that helped.ColdfireTrilogy
I agree, 1.6 is definitely harder to get into. But in no way is CS:S more noob oriented...
