You could probably buy it right now for less off of GMG with a sale coupon, so no it's not worth paying $50 regardless if you want it now or when it goes on sale.
Can you PM me where? You can get it MUCH, MUCH cheaper from places that sell Steam CD keys.

You could buy it on GMG using the 20% off code 'AUTUM-NSALE-20PEC': http://www.greenmangaming.com/games/action/dead-island/
Much safer than using a dodgy key-selling site.
32hours in on SP currently.
This game turned out better than expected. I'm using 1.2.1 patch with Dead Island Config Tool and have some bugs but they are few and 'workaround-able'.
Its worth my $40 I paid I feel, especially if you consider the length. I'm certain I'll get over 40 hours in as I'm not even to the jungle yet.
If you're not there yet and you're doing every sidequest you find, you'll get at least 50 hours at this pace.32hours in on SP currently.

Playing in co-op doesn't help stretch the game out because you'll be blowing through the levels in less than half the time. You'll get players that can one-shot a boss fight haha. And most of the times, they're rushing through the sidequests and skipping cutscenes although now, they patched it in where all players in the party need to all vote to skip the cutscene. Anyways, I clocked in about 28 hours, but like I said, I rushed through the second half of the game regrettably.32hours in on SP currently.

...and the co-op, (WHICH U NEED TO PROGRESS ANYWHERE) is BORKED.GimmeDemMoMoooz
Wrong and wrong.
For one you don't need co-op to beat this game at all. For two, co-op has worked perfectly except for the very first week of the games release. It works fine, I don't know what your problem would be...

Same opinion here. I finished the game solo, and whenever my friend wanted to join my game, there was no problem.
It's worth 50$ and even 60$ like some of the "AAA" titles are being sold for lately. It's simply the most unique FPS game I've played in a long time, putting alot of emphasis on melee combat and looting. It's also very realistic in its approach to interaction with enemies, you get knocked off and kicked to the ground, if you jump off a roof you crack your bones and die. Hitting enemies' limbs with sharp weapons can cut them off, blunt weapons cripple limbs, and there's nothing more satisfying than the sound of a baseball bat landing on somebody's skull.
This game is awesome. Buy it.
I'd say yes if it even lightly interests you. Sure you could wait for a sale. You could wait for every game to fall to 5-10 bucks but what will you do in the meantime. It's a fun game, but somewhat repetitive. If you play with other people, it's fun all the way through.guynamedbillyThis. If I could find a good deal for $40, 30, 20, or even 15, I'll grab it up if it's a game a REALLY want. Because by the time I wait for it to drop to $5-10, I would have probably lost interest already or the idea of playing the game doesn't excite me as much. For $23, there's no reason not to get it if you're into zombie games and a very good one at that. And this is probably the first good open-world zombie game. It's not perfect, but it's fun. Best played in co-op.
