Is dota a real game yet or just a mod still.

liek i never really understood or played it but i heard their mkaing it into a real game so liek can buy tnhis instores now or still just a mod app....?

and is it a good game or mediocre ???

oh man spelling police are here too better watch my typing now anyways there was only like 3-4 mistakes lol so i think you can handle it ...anyways ever seen that document on how people can read even if the words are scribbled......only the first and last letters have to be intacted and the same number of letter have to be in the word for people to actually read it clearly ....i guess your just nub :D just like im nub at typing too fast and gettting the spelling right.. or i just dont care.. who will ever know

If you want someone to answer your questions, the least you could do is make the post easy to read. Even though people can read words that are scribbled, it doesn't make it comfortable.

btw nice tc admin cut out i hope you knwo everyone has seen that before, most used portraite.. theres some really sick stuff in the gs news section you can easily cut..and by the way just to let you know i type really fast and my stupid laptop mouse pad is uber sensitive so it screws up my typing sometimes...like it goes back and crap or select stuff randomly.

For a computer technician you have a very lousy rig (JOKING).

Dota is still a custom wc3 map. Don't expect to see it in stores.

dota is a mod for wc3 not just a map. play similar to the regular wc3 mp but your main focus is 1 character not 2+ and it takes tons of skill and as of now no way will the game become a retail game, graphicaly dotas gone though many stages some good some bad its looked the same for the last like 7 versions but every version they change and balance some part of it and right now its the tightest mod on the internetDecoy123

It's just a map for WC3, but I know a few game maps that have DotA like maps (like Age of Mythology). DotA and TD are two good additional reasons why I bought the battlechest. However, I will not pay for it if it's officially available for free.

No, it really is "just a map". And it's not World of Warcraft gameplay. If it was comparable to anything, I'd say Diablo 2 with a twist. And if the map somehow became it's own game; no one would buy it. The only community DotA has is it's own little hardcore community. Everyone who plays the game play it the same one way; pick a pre-determined overpowered class and rush for certain items.

As for as know it will stay as a warcraft III mod. Although I've heard that the upcomming game Demigod by Gas powered games is partly inspired by Dota.the_hsoj

Dota is not a map, it's maps ;). It's not really a mod, but it's not just a custom map.

I still play it.

i really wonder why Filipino gamers praise and hype DoTA like it's a full retail game or a big game. DoTA is so overrated in Philippines it's getting annoying. It annoys me because most PC gamers here only play and know DoTA and they praise it like it's GOTY or something. Very overrated.

I'm just getting back into DoTA...It has been years and years and years and there is a LOT of changes.
