I'm interested in the game, but I've been put off by people who tell me it's a bad game because they reuse dungeons or something ?
I thought I would get some more opinions however ;)

The first was awesome.
With the second one, I don't know how I even managed to finish that game. A lot of people say its not that bad. I thought it was pretty darn bad. Finishing the game was work.
I'll just add that this is my honest opinion after giving this game a fair shot. Yes, the reused dungeons are pretty lame. You go into a house for a quest and find out the same house is reused for different quests. Thats one reason. The story lacks any amount of epicness that RPG's usually have. You aren't saving the world or anything. You don't travel to exotic places. You are stuck in the same place. I don't know how anyone can say the story was good.
The combat is over the top. Press a button and the dude does all sorts of flips and bodies explode at the swing of a sword. Its just over the top ridiculous.
I just really didn't like the game. You may like it, but I thought it was crap and wasn't worth the time I spent to beat it. Then again, I tend to have high standards because I don't have a lot of time to play games that are just ok.
You're going to get a lot of hate posts, even from people who either never played the game, or those who just tried the demo. The game is fine, even given the repeated environments. However, both the Legacy and MotA DLCs have new environments. Watch Kevin Van Ord's video review, he will give you a better opinion on the game. And by the way, it didn't release as bug-ridden as a beta version like Skyrim did.:lol:I'm interested in the game, but I've been put off by people who tell me it's a bad game because they reuse dungeons or something ?

Agreed. DA2 gets too much hate. When I bought it, I wasn't thinking in my head that this game had to be better than DAO because it was going in a different direction. Although it wasn't a true successor and meet everyone's expectations, I still found it to be a good game. Definitely worth it cheap. I bought it full price, launch day. :)I found it enjoyable. Not as enjoyable as DA:O, but it wasn't bad.

I thought the animations were ridiculous. Everytime the mage casts a spell he has to make a flambouyant 360 move. The rogues magically burrow underground and reappear 20 feet away. Its silly. I know bioware wants me to say, "wow thats friggen awesome!" But, I'm not impressed.
The straight up normal animations in DAO were much better. Cast a spell...raise your staff. Swing your sword...cut off a head (as opposed to a gigantic explosion of flying body parts in DA2)
DA2 was a decent game. The amount of streamlining was a serious shame, but really I preferred it to Origins. DA2 keeps the skill trees simple while Origins blitzed you with too many things; it also helped that DA2 had a player character I could engage with unlike the mute in Origins.
In terms of scope and quality, Origins is by far and away the better game. DA2 is just much more accessible and less long winded than its predecessor.
Not to mention no Level Cap. Origins froze you at Level 25 in the main game, but you can get Hawke to Level 29 without an expansion.DA2 was a decent game. What particular spell has this "flamboyant 360 move"? So you don't like the way the dev implemented the backstab - it's still better than pausing and trying to maneuver around. Besides, bosses usually pick up on the backstab anyway, and immediately spin around to face Hawke.[QUOTE="Mr_Ditters"][QUOTE="topsemag55"] There were reasons it was better than DA:O, such as character animation - your mage used his staff as an actual weapon, instead of looking like he was winding up to pitch a baseball. Also, it was nice having your rogue execute a true backstab position-wise, and starting with dual-weapon right off the bat.topsemag55

They hit swing twice shooting bolts then spin around 360 for the third hit then spin 360 in the other direction slamming the staff into the ground.
So yeah its two 360's for the standard attack--a lot of superfluous motion. DA2 took a page right out of the Harlem Globetrotters--a little razzle dazzle for ya.
Then it makes sense because the standard attack is targeting enemies when all your spells are in cooldown. One thing you missed is if a NPC is close enough, you'll see the mage actually hitting the NPC with the staff. Also in Origins, the Dalish keeper slams his staff into the ground in a cutscene. The 360 move is their standard attack. My opinion is no it's not worth it. If I could back in time and un-preoder it I would. I deeply regret giving Bioware full price for the poor excuse of a game they released.
I suggest you go read reader reviews on metacritic. Yes there's a lot of them that are rubbish but you'll find a lot of reviews that point out the good and the ugly about this game.
Two of the real bad points about this game are the waves of enemies that spawn in mid air above your head and the same dungeon over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
DAII is the type of game that at first you think it's pretty cool. By Act III you'll be so put off by the lazy development that you'll be ready to go write a rant.
