I don't know why, but I have been getting the MMORPG itch- I thought about either getting back into Guild Wars 2, or possibly getting back into ESO.
I haven't played ESO since launch, but I have heard that it is a completely different game now.

I haven't played ESO and was wondering the same on if it was worth it.
I Went through the same thing a couple months ago, and played both GW2 and ESO.
Guild Wars 2 is fun, and unique in the realm of MMOs imo. It does a lot of things well, and still has a surprisingly active community. It did not hold my interests; however, with no sub fee, it never hurts to try if you already own the game! I played it for a few months after release, but haven't touched it since, so it was kind of like a new game to me being as I hadn't played it for years.
ESO I got into after trying Guild Wars 2, and it also was a lot of fun having not played it for quite some time (again, not since release). It has really fun gameplay, and is great for people looking for an "online single-player" adventure in a sense, like you want to play a game, you want to solo, but you want to be able to jump in with other people when you feel like it.
I'm not big on PVP, but I heard ESO has some fun stuff. They also added a crap-ton of new features since I played it last like housing, various expansions/DLC, and so forth. Logging on and playing my thief-assassin Nightblade, completing contracts for an hour or two, then a main quest or so, is a lot of fun.
I recommend ESO a lot if you're looking for an MMO right now. I still like WoW a lot, but tbh WoW is not holding my attention like it used to. I Was also big into SWTOR but I think those days are over for me as well.
@mrbojangles25:
I haven't played Guild Wars 2 since launch, but I remember the game being very polished. I might look at getting a game of the year version or something just do dip my toes into it. Like Guild Wars 2, I haven't played ESO since launch and I heard a lot of good things have happened, but I am not a very big on the classes.
They just released a new expansion (included the previous Morrowind expansion, too) and it's pretty great. Has a whole new storyline, too, complete with new introduction and such. And Summerset is a gorgeous place to start out in!
Just started a warden class, seems all right so far. Still like my Dark Brotherhood-Thieves Guild Nightblade, more immersive.

Wow! Glad I found this thread...lol. I've been itching to play an MMO as well and I've been thinking about Elder Scrolls. I've only played it at launch and I just played maybe an hour or two and couldn't get into the game but with these new expansions and updates after some time I would love to get back into the game.
I had a question, could I get the expansion packs and start a new character straight at Summerset? Or Morrowind? Or I'd have to start at the first game and max my character and then make the transition like how World of Warcraft expansions usually are.
@dagubot: Not sure about Morrowind, but yes, if you start a new character with the Summerset expansion, you start in Summerset. The story is completely different, as well; instead of the whole ghost-old-man and "Vestige" thing, you get to play right off with the awesome Razum-Dar (the Khajit special forces dude :D ) and a different mystery to solve.
