I've been looking at it for a bit, with critics not giving it much love but I saw some favourable comments from some posters here a while ago. The co-op is really attractive. Is it worth getting for $20 or should I wait for a sale?

If you have the patience to get past the rough edges I think it is definitely worth it. If you have been able to get into other rough-around-the edges games like the first Stalker, you might find a lot to like in E.Y.E
It sounds more like a "wait for lots of patches to fix the game" and also "steam sale"This is sounding like a wait for steam sale. :p

Deus Ex HR is not 2x as good as EYE, so yes, EYE is worth it at $20.

That's poor logic.
Deus Ex HR is better than EYE, and to be honest, EYE isn't exactly the most polished game out there, so no, it's probably not worth the hefty price tag for an indie game.

Your logic is flawed as well. Everyone has differing opinions on what game is better than another and for what reason, there is no logic involved. His logic works just fine, for him. The only reason it is flawed for you is you don't agree with it. In the end these threads serve no real purpose because no matter how many people think a game is great, you could be the one who thinks it sucks. If I listened to every bad review I would have missed out on some pretty good movies and games just because other people didn't like them. I am one of the few people I know who actually liked "The Postman." If I went solely on reviews I would have never bothered with it.So my answer to "is E.Y.E. worth $20?" would be.........yours or mine?

His logic consisted of 2 things. How much better Deus Ex was compared to EYE, and the price tag. According to him, If another game that's priced twice the given amount is not twice as good, the game in question is worth the given amount.
Sounds flawed to me.

Sigh. No in a side by side comparison HR really is a better then EYE in more regards - coherent storytelling, and much more polished mechanics and world interaction are just a few major points. Now not to say that there shouldn't be discussion, but the strengths and weaknesses against each other are evident enough to point out; which isn't to say you shouldn't enjoy EYE more at all. However it isn't a fair comparison at all, massively one sided, which has to be taken into account. Please Log In to post.
