Yes, it's a very good game.

Short on the single player side, and the multiplayer doesn't have a lot of people anymore though.

As for polls, I think you need to be above a particular level before you can create them.

Yes, but it has frustrating level design, frustrating health system, frustrating difficulty, frustrating enemies and a frustrating save system.

It's the most frustrating game ever.

it is excellent. the later ones are better but they are all really good

I personally hate it, not many weapons, you can't look down the sights properly, the monkey morphs trijan things are rubbish, theres no fricking storyline (worse than crysis) and it is SH!T P!ISS AND F**K DIFFICULT!

and i was playing on medium!!

crysis is way way better, get it if your pc can play it or if you havent played it already.

what difficulty did you complete it on?

i had to do the invincible mod/cheat, it tells you how many times your killed, i "died" like a hundred times on the last level.

if you put tactical approach into it and save everytime you kill an enemy. the difficulty is bearable.

The game is wildly uneven, both in terms of difficulty and quality. When it gives you multiple paths and wide-open islands to explore, the game is one of the best examples of the genre. When you're getting attacked by mutant monkies in dark corridors, the game becomes tedious fast. It's not perfect--some aspects of the AI are kind of frustrating, the story is totally lame and the auto save is ridiculously bad, forcing you to use the console to save anywhere. However, it's still one of the top FPS games. mysterylobster

I think that pretty much sums up my take on the game.

It's far better than Crysis. One of my all-time favs.

Great, Great game....it tackled a more open-ended style of game-play as opposed to just being a linear shooter and the graphics were very impressive at the time of it's release and still hold up quite well today. As others have mentioned, it is a bit difficult and can get somewhat frustrating. The save system was a bit tough to deal with at times by not having a quick save that could be used at ant given point and the trigents were a bit over done in the game.....all in all i thought it had great weapons, beautiful environment, decent story(though it could get a bit cheesy) lots of vehicles and fantastic level design. I absolutely loved the CryVision and the sniper rifle. ........8)

It's a decent game, which I think is massively overrated as it had many serious gameplay flaws, not the least of which was the insane difficulty, and the lack of purpose because of a crappy story.

I would have tolerated the high difficulty (which made me replay certain sections many times, due to the stupid checkpoint saving system) if I felt like I had a purpose. But I didn't. I was this random guy in a Hawaiian shirt on an island where all the bad guys, after detecting you with xray vision, would subsequently shout out "I got your ass" or "You're mine, brother" or "Did you hear something?".

Is it worth playing? You probably will enjoy it, so yes. Is it a classic? No, I don't think it deserves that title. Some of the reviews of the game have been seriously overrated - I'd say that people got too happy over the graphics.

I liked it until the mutants came to picture. After that it was pure hell. Especially the mission where you jump from a waterfall (hiding in a bush surrounded by mutants with no weapons is not fun).jimbow4

Also, when the female CIA girl drives you from one base to the next, has to be about the best 3-4 mins in gaming.
