If it follows the same sort of cycle the GTA III games did, you'll see a PC version 6 months to a year after the console game. It will have better graphics, and maybe some sound tweaks. Some of the console bugs will be squished, and new ones will be added. Finally, the actual story and AI will be exactly the same. As this seems to be a working formula (I've preferred all of the GTA games on the PC vs the consoles), there really isn't much more that I could want.

the total;y unsuited aiming system and the way the camera kept rotating when you tried to drive. made it compelety unplayable..

what kind of control imput were u using? if it was a game pad with analog controllers, see if one of the analogs is locked to a side, if it wasn't then there's something wrong with your computer cause this is not normal and never happened to me or to the people that I know. And yes, I would be very happy if it's ported to pc, or at least to the wii ;)

Yeah I never had those problems in SA. Maybe he didn't take his time and customize his controls. As for GTA4. I wouldn't expect to see it on PC until late 2008 maybe even into 2009.

Driving controls were way better in SA. You could turn the camera while driving like in Mafia, which was cool but also usefull when driving into blind angles. Car physics were also improved; in certain cars you could drift :D

I agree the fighting was messed up though as you couldn´t backpedal with some of the weapons. But it was sweet how you could raise and aim your gun without firering it.

Ground breaking innovation is what I expect of IV. But seeing as they are running with an already used city... LOL.

I think that GTA IV will look and feel EXACTLY like the other games of the series. Six stars in the right corner, radar, pressing f to enter vehicles etc etc. I don´t care at all about improved graphics.

Seriously, I fear GTA IV will be the nail in the coffin on gaming for me, but I hope I am wrong.

What GTA III really lacked was some Multiplayer. I hope they do this with gtaIV!

I don't see why they can't do it, Battlefield 2 can do 64 players with tanks and jeeps, ect..

Anyway case they when they release gta IV multiplayer or notI want it.

Or at least make the game more easily customisable so that people can mod the game very easily. That way, people would be able to change the gui, graphics, sounds and even the gameplay.

For the multiplayer part...please put one in Rockstar

Considering Rockstar are incapable of developing anything original or new, the game will probably be using an upgraded GTA III engine - so expect a locked down "unmoddable" port several months down the line :)

But I think they won't put multiplayer in, because GTA has tons of cars, peds and stuff. In single player the game actually creat them close to the player, so the game never has to keep track of many things. In multiplayer, this processing doubles for 2 players, and so on for more players. And the game would have to send information about the estate and position of the objects over the Internet, so even if they manage to put multiplayer in it would probably be extremely laggy. GTA 2 had it because the objects had only a few properties, like x and y coordinates, velocity, layer, direction, and hp, but the 3d gta objects have much more properties. Don't know, maybe Rockstar manage to do it, as I hope :), but it would be very hard.

All I would want in this game, regardless of what system it's on, is what I've always wanted since GTA III. Online Multiplayer. That's it.

I hope I am too, but as far as game developing studios go, Rockstar is just ugh. Either way, the lack of a release date for GTAIV on the PC could either be indictive of lashback from the "Hot Coffee" fiasco or they simply just don't give a flying toaster about PC gamers (despite the fact it was PC gamers who put them where they are today - GTA1/2 saw their success primarily on the PC).

Well, remember that there was initially no PC release date for GTA3, nor (IIRC) was there one at first for VC and SA. In fact, I seem to recall that GTA3 was initially announced as a PS2 exclusive, never to see the light of day on any other system. So, I'm not surprised at there being no PC release date as of yet. Now, will the game be easily modded? I'd actually be surprised if it were, since the first thing they did in response to the whole Hot Coffee fiasco was lock the game up so no mods of any sort could be used (a BS decision if you ask me, given that modding is one of the great strengths the PC has over consoles). I predict a PC version that is difficult to impossible to mod will be on the shelves within a year of the PS3 release.

SA:MP is flawed in so many ways I wouldn't even consider it true multiplayer.

Regarding the SA:MP mod, I agree that it is absolute garbage. I love the GTA series more than almost any other franchise, so I was willing to overlook a lot of SA:MP's shortcomings. However, the code is very sloppy and lag makes it almost unplayable. Even when I'd get very frustrated playing it, I'd still drag myself back into another game hoping it was just server lag. It wasn't, and the entire mod needs a complete rewrite from the bottom up. Players warping across the screen, players not able to see damage they are doing to enemies, and rampant cheating are the worst flaws in the mod. Some other wacky bugs include being able to shoot through walls and falling through the ground. Yay!

After playing with the SA camera controls I have a hard time playing the first two GTA III. It's so nice to be able to steer the camera, but it IS a bummer when it won't return to "normal" fast enough

Um... Hot Coffee was fully accessible on the PS2 and Xbox versions as well with proper modifications/action-replay. All versions had to get it removed and it was all versions that made Rockstar lose money. Lets also not forget that to get it unlocked on the PC, it required the user download a third party modification, something that should have exempted R* from any problems with the PC version. It was the console versions that got them in the most trouble.

And yes, GTAIV should be coming to PC. I believe the market for the games on PC is rather large for not only the games themselves but the mods associated with them, such as Multi Theft Auto. I hope it does come out on PC, so that I can play it.

GTA IV will have multiplayer, 16 players, well at least that's for the PS3 version, so I'm sure the PC version will have one too.
