I'm pretty bummed out I just missed the sale Steam had going on, but does anyone recommend GTA IV for the mindless randomness of the online gameplay? I had it on Xbox when I had an Xbox, is it worth the $20 price tag?

Yeah if you wait til christmas you can probably get the whole GTA pack for the same price or less. its worth your money though, good game. its even worth the 20 dollar price tag, but if you can wait then you can get a better deal
I wonder if the online community is still active? Let me knw if any1 wants to play some GTA 4 multiplayer its been a while.scorpion_greatWait for the Christmas sale, won't be long, maybe it'll also have a nice discount on the Black Friday and yes it's still active, I uninstalled GTA IV, but I do have EFLC installed and multiplayer is still active, I always find around 6-12 servers every time I play, probably in EU since ping is great on each of em, not sure in NA. Multiplayer is great random fun, but the singleplayer is awesome, add some random mods for sp and it'd make the multiplayer add almost no value at all to this awesome package.
If single player has any impact on your decision, Ballad of Gay Tony >> GTAIVgreasemonkey42Disagree. The flying stuff in TBOGT is horrendous. And there's enough of it to really weigh the game down.
I think it's still a pretty good play, but for $20 you can probably find something more worth your money at the moment.
If there is another sale then I think it is a great game for $5-10.
Of course GTA IV is worth the 20$ price tag but i would still wait until you can get GTA IV and the DLC in one pack for the same price or less.I'm pretty bummed out I just missed the sale Steam had going on, but does anyone recommend GTA IV for the mindless randomness of the online gameplay? Worth more? i would like to see the game which have the same amount of game-time as GTA for 20$ Yes you can run through GTA IV in under 10hours but thats without doing sidemissions, side"dating" and all the other things GTA IV have to offer, if you take it easy and have fun you can with ease get around 120+ hours of gametime.I think it's still a pretty good play, but for $20 you can probably find something more worth your money at the moment.

It was fine in IV - like its actually a real treat to be able to fly above the city and see everything. But in the expansions they changed something about the controls and trying to shoot up those boats, that was just awful.
the fact that the protagonist can't use a safety belt properly and alway go through the windshield every time you hit something....Franko_3I'd wish :(, it's harder than you think, it almost never happens.
Its too big a pain to get working well than the actual game is. Chances are, if GTAIV hasn't drawn you in yet, you probably won't enjoy it.

Use a joypad and flying is as easy as saying your ABC.

Personally, I can't stand GTAIV because of the terrible optimization and the dozen of annoyances (Like the friends system, the fact that the protagonist can't use a safety belt properly and alway go through the windshield every time you hit something....), but I know I am the minority. So if you can grab it for 5$, go aheadFranko_3I noticed in another thread people complaining about friends - cant you just put your phone on silent so they don't call and bother you?

Thing is, I don't care. I just want to do the missions. I know you get perks if they like you a lot, but I don't care.I dunno, it's nice to have Little Jacob bring you guns... none of the other ones are that great. Plus, if you make someone mad, they won't do anything with you.[QUOTE="realguitarhero5"]Then they get mad at you.cain006

Also, if I'm not mistaking, the girlfriends are handled similarly to San Andreas... one gets you out of jail with guns, one gets you out of the hospital for free, and I KNOW that one can get you 50% of clothes, at least clothes from Perseus.[QUOTE="realguitarhero5"][QUOTE="cain006"]Thing is, I don't care.
