It is, only ones that consider it the next big thing after Crysis 1 are those that already drowned in the hype, it's BC 2 with better lighting and more detailed destruction, there's one fantastic thing about it, the maps, the remakes at least.
Why... I haven't played BF3 yet... so I couldn't come to such a conclusion. On a serious note, judging by gameplay videos of BOTH games, I like how BF3 looks more. And I think BF3 looks much better and more impressive.
And BF3 also uses directx11...as a matter of fact crysis is just dx9 and dx11, BF3 doesnt use dx9 as minimum, it uses dx10.lightleggy
It has DX 10 too, not in the options tho as for BF 3 that's their choice a game that'll also be on consoles has no business being exclusive to hardware above consoles.

It does...if you're not talking about the in game options then you'd know, there's a console command to activate DX 10 and just like BC 2 differences won't be that big, just more sharper and the DX 11 effects which obviously consoles don't have.

BF3 is not even out yet, so this is silly debate/arguement to have. PC gameplay at 1080, everything maxed out even if the video has compression, that's a very good representation. The closeups were horrible compared to any Crysis, some blocky objects, half decent textures, it has nothing going on other than great lighting, tesselation to make things in the background look more detailed and the destruction, just like BC 2 had decent graphics, bad textures, destruction. Nobody would go nuts over CoD 4 if it'd get a lighting overhaul.

No there isn't. Stop making stuff up. Explains why the DX 10 command in the console works, right? stop not getting informed before commenting, it had all the console commands on a page made mostly for cheats, google if you want, but don't talk like you know.
