Tactical shooter is what i think its called
hikari33
I can barely remember the last tactical Tom Clancy game.
Hmm i thought Las vegas and Graw were Tom clancy games? I really like those 2 and so do a lot of ppl. They r kinda tactical i think.TanKLoveR
The original Tom Clancy Rainbow Six games were the epitome of tactical IMO. The last trully tactical shooter was Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield.
I loved the old Ghost Recon games and Rainbow6: Rogue Spear alot.
The splinter Cell games where good fun to (no amazing but still fun).
I also enjoyed GRAW2 and Vegas 2 (GRAW1 and Vegas 1 not so much).
Ive always been a fan of tactical shooters, so usually enjoy the clancy games (although they are not quite as tactical as they once where, they are still somewhat more tactical then other shooters out there)

Thats realism for ya :D
Use tactics to plan your moves instead of just rushing in like a jacka$$.
The only Tom Clancy games i didn't like was GRAW and GRAW2. I tried really hard to like both, but the AI is so... ridiculously... unbelievably.... STUPID, it just hurts. And they both make you feel so insignificant and your mission so useless, as if it's so remote from everything that no one really cares what's going on there anyway.
The rest of the games going back all the way to the first Rainbow6 were fantastic (with the exception of Chaos Theory, haven't played that one myself so can't say).
My favorite thing to do in Rainbow Six is to set up attack plans that involve one of my team members throwing a grenade into a room and then ordering my other teams into the room. Then someone yells, "Murphy murphy" (clearly referring to Murphy's law) and then it blows up. That's usually the point that I shut the game off and go watch tv.df853
Did you also order them to do the macarena dance?

humm....is that a picture of Jun Natsukawa? *umm..yumie....
oh yeah, back to the topic, vegas and graw were some pretty cool games.
I've only played the first splinter cell game which I though was awesome, slow paced yes..but what do you expect when the games about stealth. Been meaning to buy the others in ther series. As for the other Tom Clancy games, never played them before.so I can't really say if their terrible or not. They have generally been well reviewed. Probably just don't suit your taste.

I would have, but I didn't see that option in the planning layout editor thingy. I only saw stuff like flashbang, grenade, and stuff like that.
[QUOTE="artur79"][QUOTE="fatshodan"]I'd say Rogue Spear is one of the greatest PC games ever made, and the original Splinter Cell is magnificent.df853
So is the second SC, I think it's the best stealther out there.
Yes, B_L, better than Thief.
Nope. Thief is.
no, bg2 is - my assassin character with his x9 backstab ability.

Nuhuh! Splinter Cell above all. Not listening to you! *Puts fingers in ears. NANANANANANANA!*
I have enjoyed all the Splinter Cell games, but none of them I thought were exceptionally great. I was always disappointed how it didn't make enough use out of the special abilities and gadgetry. Example, it was unlike Thief 1 and 2 (but totally missing in Deadly Shadows) where the user had countless opportunities to use the rope/vine arrows. In the Splinter Cell games, I could probably count on one hand how many opportunities Fisher had to slide down a rope (which was also unfortunately always fixed.) Instead, the SC games always evolved from a psuedo-stealth action game to almost a pure assault action game by the end. SC game stories were all forgettable and had such anticlimatic endings. That's a rather big sin considering that Tom Clancy is a famous author of spy thriller books.
The Tom Clancy game franchise was great, right up until the time they started porting them from consoles (Splinter Cell, GRAW, Lockdown, Vegas).
The Ghost Recon and Rainbow series were pretty much the best tactical shooters ever. Pity that they have now dumbed them down into console friendly frag fests.
