It's too long so many mediocre deals and games are thrown in the spotlight.

This and only this, good point.
Perhaps we're all just getting too used to sales. The download market is now pretty crowded with them, so between people buying major titles at release and those holding out for a sale, people get what they want pretty quickly.
I generally buy games in sales that I wouldn't otherwise get - if I don't like them, I haven't wasted much (and in most instances was still better value than a cinema ticket).
it seems like the same games on sale over and over
GrannyGoat
i saw torchlight 2, portal 2 , Global offense , Saints Row 3. and more how constantly repeating, and i wanted to buy Lord of the Rings War in North, wasnt even on any kind of sale.

Can you prove to me that Amazon and GMG have had better sales? Most of them are the same.
Is it "kewl" to hate Steam. Is Steam too mainstream for you?

You mean all of them except for the recently released?
no i dont. there are older games i'd like to see on sale, but I keep seeing Omerta City of Gangsters, Saints Row 3, Batman Arkham City, Just Cause 2, over and over again. Not saying they arent good deals or great games, but theres not much variety this year![QUOTE="Assimilat0r"]

Mate no need to troll around ,there is only one troll on GS forums and its Unreal.
First STEAM is only digital platform i am using for playing games, i got over 200 games... but you must admit crapy repeat of some games. I wanted olders few games but couldnt see them on promotion past days. And was stalking steam 24/7

Maybe you should use the search and stop looking at the front page. All the games have a price cut except for most of the recently released.

and what games do you want to buy exactly?
is the last remnant worth a buy?
GrannyGoat
I personally thought it was rubbish. But I hate most jrpgs. I'd recommend YS over it. YS was pretty awsome.

if you like jrpgs there is a chance you will like it.
The game does take a little while to start getting good (starts slow) and also it does have a decent learnign curve compared to some other jrpgs.
Personally I liked it, while not even close to being perfect, I did like the combat, graphics and music personally, not to mention its a MUCH better version than the console versions which had HORRIBLE framerate.
Here is the GS review for it if ya care:

It does...my siblings played it with a 360 controller. Maybe you just need to switch it on but I think it was plug and play for that game.why does Rayman Origins not have controller support? I hate playing platformers with mouse/keyboard

It does have controller support. Played it at a friends on 360 controller.
ah sweet. is it worth $12? good game?I agree that it definitely goes on too long so there are a lot of repeats and ho-hum games being recycled. You can also find some games cheaper on sites like Amazon and GMG but, overall, I think it's fine. I'm certainly not complaining.
not better or worse than other sales i think. i just feel like they have been shooting themselves in the foot with so many sales. i used to think a great deal is a triple A title at half the original price. now i hardly consider something worth buying if it's more than 5 euros, and i can easily wait it out with a ton of games left unplayed.
Its always the same games on sale (year after year) and the newer titles usually don't have enough of a significant discount. I mean what is this 30% or 40% nonsense. Selling digital games is like printing money.
I have that issue but I usually use the steam sale as an excause to pick up DLC for a reasonable price.
It's a great excause as well to re-play games.

ah sweet. is it worth $12? good game? I loved it when I played it on the X360.I'm not complaining, got enough games to last me 5 years now and all I bought from this sale was Dark Souls. I don't think I'm gonna enjoy the sales again for a while.
It's a good sale, but the flash sales and repeats really suck the fun out of waking up and hitting the computer to see what gold you could find in the earlier years. Seen a bunch of games as dailies whereas I remember they used to come once as a daily, then as an encore.
There are a bunch of games on my wishlist I was hoping to snag for 75% off (old stuff I'd never gotten around to playing like Silent Hunter, The Longest Journey, Rainbow Six 3) but those 33% deals are leaving me in the cold.
This. Yeah, I mean.. if you buy like every darn game during every sale.. you're going to be bored when it comes to the next sale event. The people who usually do this and complain are the same folks with 200-400 games in their game library, with a 30% or less completion or games played rate. This happens every year, mainly because alot of people already have the games they want,etc..
kozzy1234
Yep, most people here have the big / good games already. The sales don't seem as repetitive the holiday sale. I think they could really spice up the sale by selecting a number of older games and putting them up at crazy sub $1 prices. This happens every year, mainly because alot of people already have the games they want,etc..

Yes, that.. and making flash sales in 3 or 4 hour intervals, and increase it to 8 games. Community choice can stay at 4 games, but 3-4hr intervals too. This will give many other games a chance at the spotlight. This happens every year, mainly because alot of people already have the games they want,etc..

I thought the sales were decent for me, I'm not complaining. Offcourse I started gaming as a console gamer in the 80s, so I know a time when games cost a lot of money. A sale was getting a game for 19.99 bucks or getting a not so great game for $9.99 at a store--This still applies today in my area. While with Steam you can get great games for your 9.99 or even less.
It blows my mind that people could complain about this: The length, the prices, etc., of sales.
I picked up Deus Ex: HR for $3 and really enjoying it. I noticed that not all sales are on the front page on Steam, for example, Terran Conlfict was 3.99 but not listed.
We are lucky to get any sales at all. I noticed Tomb Raider was also only 12.99 and that game is pretty recent. If I had more cash I may have picked it up. Also DCS A10C was on sale saving $23 (already had it).
I have lived through 3 Steam sales now and I can't say any of them were bad.

There's loads that has been on sale or even not at a discounted price. There's at least 2 games in my wish list, Cladun x2 and Miasamata, that hasn't been on sale or even discounted yet.People now complaining about discounted prices.... this planet really has no salvation.FelipeInside
yeah i guess if they gave it all for free people would be happy.
no, i think then people would complain the games being so crappy no-one wants them even for free.

Seriously? Amazon is currently pricematching Steam plus a 15% discount. GMG had many of the same titles on with up to 25% coupons at the checkout, or just straight up better deals (such as BL2 + season pass for $13.50). Don't be so narrowminded.

Really?
That's what you're able to comprehend from all this?
Not that it's the same deals rotating around and some games that need the exposure from a sale aren't even getting it?
You're missing that, you think that people are complaining about sale prices.
Well you're one interesting fellow then.
