It's possible to dual boot os's, but since vista came installed first, you can't dual boot. You have to have xp first, then vista.

I have not heard that. I do not see any reason why you could not use a partition utility to resize the Vista partition and add a new partition in the leftover space for XP. That's how I have dual-booted XP and linux in the past. On my desktop I used Norton Partition Magic 8.0 in XP and it worked great. If you cannot find Partition Magic for Vista, then there are other utilities, some of which are free, but maybe trickier to use.

Vista has a partition manger built right in. Just make a new partition out of your free space, then boot from your XP CD and install on your new partition.

It can deffinately be done pal. Just as the guy said above vista has its own built in partition manager. I read this months pczone magazine and there is a step by step guide on how to have vista and xp on the same hard drive. There is a website but i cant find any info on there for you. You could maybe get the magazine.
