Is it time we got a new Crysis Wars/Battlefields 2142 style game?

Seriously when was the last time we got a large scale sci fi Multiplayer shooter

Both Crysis 1/Crysis Wars and Battlefield 2142 were pretty good games with power struggle and titan mode

now with more advanced PC hardware and next gen consoles if it helps make it financially possible I'd love to see a take on of this

with modern day engines, next gen destruction, visuals, animation, would some nice icing on the cake.

We the FPS genre stagnating in innovation, this could be a good time to make one.

Play Planetside 2. It dwarfs either of the games you listed in terms of scale and is a really fun game.

I would be more than glad if people went back to bf 2142. No modern game can get better than it

HELL YEAH! we seriously need something like that!

e: Titan Mode and Power Struggle were absolutely brilliant. both one of the best modes in online FPS history (although, Power Struggle was a technical disaster and 2142 engine wasn't the best around). like you said, future theme allows for lots of innovations on weapons, gadgets, vehicles and everything.

didn't like it. it was actually TOO big; you didn't feel like you had any influence on the battlefield. you just felt too insignificant. also i didn't like the game engine at all. it was suited for large-scale war, but it felt dull and lifeless.
