It's really never too late to start any MMO. The only problems you'd have is getting a good group to run instances at low levels. But this is my prefrence only, Running instances is a waste of time at low levels cause you'll find better gear when your solo questing.

You're over 3 years too late in my opinion. Back when PvP had ranks is when I loved WoW. Back when epic items actually felt epic. Back when epic mounts made you a GOD!! Now you grind that stuff in a matter of days. There's no pride in WoW these days. It's sad. Everyone can be a hero now in the first week.....yeah... Back then was better.....you're 3 years too late in my opinion.

Well even if new expansions weren't being introduced, epic mounts/items would eventually lose their "epicness" over time anyway. People who were server firsts at owning legendary items, etc, would eventually become trivial since ppl would catch up. Its kinda stupid to compare when the game first came out and like glowing brightwood staff or epic mounts was totally "epic", to the current WoW when you can probably get enough gold for those in like 2 days, thus become the "hero" or wateva. There's always going to be a chance for people to be "heroes" and be on the cutting edge of PvP or PvE, but what is "epic" right now will probably be a cliche in a month or two, cuz thats what MMOs are about: how much time you're willing to invest :P

Oh and if you're just starting WoW now, at least they seriously cut down on the leveling time compared to few years back, not sure how long 70-80 takes tho, i quit at the beginning of '08 :P
