I played Everquest 2 instead....maxxed out my character, then grew bored and quit my account. I dont see many new great mmo's out there right now.......I know WOW has been out a few years now, is it even worth starting from scratch with a new character, or should I wait until a new, better mmo comes out?Spinbrett
not at all go and join it..and the good thing bout wow is it has its share of high lvl and low lvl players and the 2nd expansion is coming in a year i think so you have lotsa time to lvl..pvp ..raid and have fun :)
Yeah don't worry dude. Players will keep coming and going. I have a feeling WoW is going to stay solid for atleast another 2-3 years if not more. This of course depends on the popularity of the upcoming expansion pack.
Personally I couldn't afford the $15.00 a month, but I played for about 1/2 a year and leveled up my character fairly well.
I played WoW since the Beta until about 4 months ago. I was an addict, but managed to finally pull away. It's never too late to start, but to be fair to you; it's a long way to the top. In my time, I was with 4 major raiding guilds on 2 servers. If you want to get to the top, it's a commitment. Long hours leveling to start, then longer hours raiding and looting.
My only advice to a newcomer is to choose your friends carefully. When you get to the higher levels, decide what kind of player you want to be:Casual, or Raider; then choose your guilds carefully. Don't use people. I've seen a lot of good players lose their reputations because of lousy circumstances in raids and what not.
WoW is a GREAT game, and it's VERY addicting. 7 million people don't play it because it's healthy. Be prepared.

these questions cause a conflict of interest - it's not too late to start wow (hell, i didn't even start eq1 until expansion 3 was just hitting the shelves, and i got to the high end game before expansion 4 was out) because you can - probably won't - but can be level 70 in a month pretty easily
if your goal is to pvp, you can get into wow any time - if you want to play the raid game, you can get there in no time so long as you can find a guild, and odds are you can
but then part two of the question - should you wait for a better mmo? i would say yes, abso-defi-lutely-nately... wow is a fun game... at least, it can be - but it's just not a game i would recommend to people when there're games like age of conan and warhammer online on the horizon
check out the trial, if you enjoy it - well, leveling is so fast that qutting that level 70 character isn't a big deal if a better mmo comes along in a couple months, so it wouldn't hurt to check out the full game...
Wow is a lot like drugs. Fun with friends and in moderation, but also expensive and addictive. I stopped over a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. I highly suggest you play with friends, but if you can't try and find online friends to get close with. Without people to have fun with, WoW and almost all other MMO's suck.Rotinaj32LOL you make WoW and drugs go hand in hand :D
Whenever I was looking to reroll to a new server I always checked out this site.

I would typically pick a server with an online date less than 3 months old. You can also tell the age by the level distribution, huge group at 70 and minimal people at other levels means the server is "old".
