Check benchmarks and what people think of them. I have 2 GTX 460s and they're more than enough to max out any game out there.

i have crossfired a hd5770 and a 5750 , both are a little bit weaker than the gtx 460. Doubling up cards is the best thing i've ever did. suddenly you will have the power of 500$ cards.

The recommended GPU for rage is a 9800GTX.. I think you will be fine. I'd still get that other 460GTX for BF3 though (check your psu to make sure it can handle another gpu).

Rage has extremely low gpu requirements. A 5570 from AMD is on its recommended side. That is literally 1/2 as powerful as a 9800 gtx which is also on the recommended.. Point being, the recommended is a joke... As Rage is a multiplatform game and nothing special being added on pc (no dx11, physx, confirmation on HD textures, particle effects etc), you will not have any problems with the gtx 460 unless the game is horribly unoptimized.

not for $150, but for $100 id bite. You can find some people willing to part with their like new 460 gtx cards for $100 on local online ads like craigslist and so on. I liked my geforce 460gtx, it was a great card when i purchased it for $100 a couple months back. Unfortunately the scaling of the 460 isn't as good as the radeon 6xxx cards, so it will be much weaker than a 6850 crossfire setup.

I think that's totally worth it. Considering you'll get a HUGE performance boost just by spending 150 bucks. GTX 460 SLI will be more than enough to max every game out there.

That is true, but it won't have trouble maxing out games though, plus OCing.:D

For nvidia i think its best to stick it out with single cards, going double with them isnt worth as much as it is with amd.

At this point in time haha, nvidia was creaming AMD prior to the 6XXX series.

I have 2 and they're great. Here's a good article from Toms Hardware. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-460-sli-geforce-gtx-480,2694.html

That's what I am doing. I was gonna make a whole new build for BF3 in Oct. with a 580, but after looking at the benchmarks:

http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=614&Itemid=72&limit=1&limitstart=8

The SLI 460s beat out the 580 in almost all situations. So now, I am going to get a second 460 and put it in my current PC and still build a new PC around mid Oct. for BF3.

My current PC is a 1GB 460, a Q9550 @ 2.8, and 4 GB RAM. The new PC will be 2x 1 GB 460s, an i5 2500k, and 8GB RAM.
