Is it worth playing through Just Cause 1 just cause I want to play Just Cause 2?

No... I did not play Just Cause 1 and had a blast playing just Cause 2. There isn't much of a story line in Just Cause so I am guessing there is no need to play Just Cause 1 to "catch up to the story". Its just a fun game to blow stuff up and the missions are a bunch of fun. Basically the story is you do jobs for a bunch of different gangs in return for information to crack the case. It is not much of a story driven game, but boy are the graphics beautiful! The map is insanely huge and the amount of freedom is pretty crazy. Hijacking jet planes is always fun... Get the game and ull have a blast

I haven't played the first one, but the second one has no story whatsoever (that you won't skip). So i wouldn't worry about it.

You are some sort of special agent going to do something in some random country. That is all you need to know.

I've never played JC. I jumped on with JC2...and it was one of the best games I played last year - I spent more than 100 hours on it (and I still dip in once in a while to blow some more stuff up).

There's nothing quite like jumping from one helicopter to the next and headshotting the pilot about 5 times when the military is really intent on killing you :P .

The plot is wafer-thin, but does have some wonderfully absurd moments that are played out perfectly.

I found JC1 painful to play on the PC, myself. But then I got it for free on Steam with some bundle deal, so... no loss. Just bought JC2 for the PS3 a few days ago. The game is okay, much easier on the eyes than the first game, anyway.... Could't play it on my PC, being that I'm still on WinXP. But this game is more fitting on a console, anyways.
