Yeah, its fun and worth $10 now that its patched. Plenty of mods to adjust gameplay to taste if needed also. FOV is fixable, thank goodness. First person view mod is great. Mouse deceleration is still there but not too noticeable unless you do superfast mouse turns.
It really is worth it. Its one of the best sandbox games ever.
The mission structures might have a repetitive pattern if you do the story but its not really about that. I've done a few so far and still plan to finish the story but got distracted because of the huge world to mess around in and create my own fun & destruction and there are just so many awesome moments that come to you naturally when playing. I actually didn't realise how many hours I sunk in already just blowing things up causing chaos in different ways and sightseeing. The visuals are really superb also.
It's worth it at that price no matter how you put it. It's a beautiful sandbox game with a huge world and great graphics, and a really good time sink since you can just explore the world and try different stunts if the main story doesnt interest you.

a bag of nails (not a large one at that)

oh ok lol I stand corrected for your area. Its 3 here, 4 for quarter pounder and 5 for 10 pc nuggets meals. But anyways... Yes its worth 5 bucks from what I hear about it. I gotta get it myself.

Which ones? I had no bugs whatsoever on my playthrough...
I experienced many bugs with a grappling hook and parachuting that led to a few deaths. I.E using my hook going from a rooftop to another lower rooftop not canceling it and I would hit the wall and take damage as if i dropped from a high height.
I've had many bugs with dialog and closed captions where cutscenes would keep playing and lips moving but voices be long over.

Yes. But it's VERY repetitive. Also missions don't automatically comes up, you have to fill up something (forgot what's called) then main missions will pop up. There are also faction missions so yeah..
It's repetitive, but only in the sense that you'll mostly be exploring, goofing off, and blowing stuff up. It'll be one of the only repetitive games you'll love. It's expansive and I've never finished it, still playing and having fun. There's so much variety in the environments...and the languages spoken by NPCs, funnily enough (I swear I can hear them talking in cantonese).
Yep ultimately how long you have fun for will depend on yourself the player. If you follow the story path strictly and just try and shoot everybody and everything up one way then it will probably get boring soon. Its a sandbox game with the tools at your disposal. It encourages you to be creative, inventive and simply explore for yourself.
Its not entirely flawless and I think people will agree with these points below but no one will care because they don't hold the game back from its actual purpose.
The story isn't that good and is pretty basic with awful voice acting. Missions have a repetitive pattern structure. Enemies will constantly respawn. The checkpoint system is far apart taking you back to the start of a mission if you die which can get annoying and can make the story missions repetitive. Thats all I can think off.
Don't get the game for a strong tight story based experience this is not it.
Yeah there is a demo but I would not recommend judging the game on it. I did not enjoy the demo at all but I could see its intent so I jumped and didn't regret it.
Yes, i really wish it had some co-op, that would be uber fun. It has a weak ass story. But the gameplay for the most part is solid and fun. Make sure to use mods and cheats it makes it more fun. Like having all the weapons unlocked and just run around with a rpg is fun
