Left for Dead 2 is on sale on Steam for $6.79. I want to get it, but it seems like an extremely dull and simple shooter that lacks a story. Is this how the game really is, or does it have more substance?

it has substance quite alot actually but the MP is rather dead and you need l4d2 to fully enjoy all of it
Sorry, guys. I was actually talking about Left for Dead 2. I fixed the OP and the title. How are the graphics? Also, I enjoyed playing Resided Evil 5. So, does that mean that I'll enjoy this game?
It's more than worth it. Obviously multiplayer is where it's at, but a little more than a buck per campaign is a great deal considering how fantastic the levels are designed. And even by yourself they're worth a few playthroughs each.DJ_Lae
Alright. I'm going to buy it, right now.
It's an absolute steal at $6.

There's one thing that I must say. PC Gaming is so damn cheap (once you've already built the PC). I mean, you'd never see games that are this recent being sold for prices as little as $6.00 on console. Man, it's absolutely amazing. With Steam, you can be guaranteed that a game will eventually go on Sale.
GTA IV complete is 10$ now absolute steal, I going to buy it since I have gta on the disc but dont have episodes from liberty city. :)

I don't have episodes from Liberty City, either. Damn. Now, I'm tempted to get this. How long are the episodes? Are they as long as a full game?

Pretty much. Around 6 hours or more depending on how you play of course. It's like two standalone games in one pack. Awesome deal.l4d2 is only worth it imo if you can get 3 other people and play it co-op, i found playing by myself to get repitive
I would get episodes from liberty city and then even if the sale goes of L4D 2 wasnt that much more expensive anyway.

I've already ordered Left for Dead 2. On another note, I already have Grand Theft Auto IV, which I got from Steam. How would buying the game work out? Will I have to download the entire game again (plus the episodes)? Or will I be able to download the episodes by themselves?
There is actually a lot more content in L4D2, I think around 6-7 campaigns and also the No Mercy campaign remade for L4D2.
Obviously, Left 4 Dead 2 can never get old because of the Mutation mode. (Every week something changes in the game, for example more special infected)
I wasn't quite as blown away by it as I was by the first game, but it's still incredibly fun and well worth $6.
