Is LOTRO still active online?

I mean are there still people that play, and about how many? Enough to make you feel like there is a big community?

I'd say at least a few hundred thousand still play. After WoW, the next closest ones are LOTRO, Age of Conan, EVE Online, Everquest, and I'm assuming WAR. None have nearly as many as WoW does, but they're considerably populated.
