I bought this for five bucks a couple months ago but haven't played it yet. I don't have a gamepad, so will this be an issue?

It will be.  I always play K&M, did that for MGS 1 PC but this one needs it for some odd reason.  Too hard with the keyboard/mouse controls.  Good game, kinda shoddy port.

Yes it is quite a good game.

Once you've "patched" (its more of a crack than a patch) it up to fix some graphical issues with VR and you can look past the terrible port of the controls (start button is TAB), which can be changed of course, then it is a great game to have (still playing it to get all VR and all Dog Tags)

it's good on the PC and you don't need a gamepad or anything, i finished it with my keyboard without any problems.

i loved this game on the PS2 but the port is very shoddy.

I needed a gamepad with analogue spinnyness in order to succeed.Â
