Its a sandbox and a really good one. Like the dude above me said, it can get very addictive. Its your choice though, if you want to play a really awesome sandbox, then go ahead, but if your just not that into sandboxes (like me) then dont get it. You should definitely try it though, its definitly worth a try.

I would have bought the game, but I'm not cause it's very very choppy and ruins it for me. Don't know why it's so choppy, but it is. Thankfully I'm just using my brothers account to log in. So in my opinion, don't bother getting it. After a while it becomes boring too.

It's pretty awesome and also lasts a really long time provided you're the least bit creative.

SMP is where it's at now that it's more in line with singleplayer survival feature-wise. If you know someone who plays it, I would suggest setting up a private server between yourselves rather than playing on public servers with randoms. Also: don't cheat.. ruins the experience completely.

It's a pretty great game. One of the few games where exploration is rewarding and enjoyable as is construction.

It's definitely worth it. It's barely beginning and there are some awesome mods out for it. Plus if the low-res textures turn you off there are literally dozens of texture packs you can use that will make it look very nice (and there is just about any theme you can think of out there, Zelda, Doom, Albion, the original just in HD, etc....)

Does anyone know if there is a way to save your progress (level) in multiplayer? Me and my buddy played last night (didnt get too far, no big deal) and today the level is new and what we did is gone. I want to be able to keep all that I have accomplished :P. Thanks for the help!

..huh? It automatically saves. Constantly at that. Did you load the same world?

edit: Switching hosts will create a new world. Also note that you cannot access your multiplayer save from singleplayer without some tinkering.

only if you have a healthy supply of creativity and, to a lesser extent, time

I personally love it. Such a simple presentation, yet near-infinite depth of gameplay. Add to this online play, frequent updates, mods, etc and its arguably the greatest game to come out of no where.

It gets old really fast after you build something big and then you say, "Wait, what was the point of that?" I haven't played since like November.

James161324

people always say this about games...Magicka, Left 4 Dead, Minecraft...

I play offline and its a blast imo. The thing I love about it is that its my own little world, and no one elses. Granted, I am sure online is enjoyable, but that does not diminish the quality of offline play.

TC said his buddy has it, though, so I say definately get it.

Use the "stop"-command when turning off a server. Or maybe, you are missing something obvious.

Whats the point of life? (plz no religion bs)
No really, everything has no meaning, because meaning is a concept humans invented.
there is no difference if you would die today or in a 100 years, yes it would influence a couple of people for a relative short amount of time but in 200 years nobody will probably remember you even existed, like you never existed.

My point is: if you like something in life (and its not conflicting harm to others) then just do it.
Doesn't matter what it is, because meaning is something you have to create yourself.

Actually think Minecraft is more fun without friends. At least mine always blow up the stuff I build which tends to get pretty annoying really quickly.

I LOVE the soundtrack. It feels like a classic game, sounding like Zelda games at times and JRPG's and such at others. The graphics could use a TAD of anti-aliasing or something, but the style is kind of nice :). Really enjoying the game, and my buddy that I am playing with is not someone who destroy's it all :P.

True, but didn't he hire a team recently? Maybe that team is focusing on the new card game or something.
