Recently i started noticing graphics glitches in multiple games, it looks like meshes are not rendered correctly and are stretched somehow.

Here, I made a video of it in BF3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhlH_RFdBgE&feature=youtu.be

and Project CARS

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sVsditw-BQ

It usually doesn't happen instantly, but after a while of playing and gets worse.

GPU temps are 72°C max after 1 hour in heaven benchmark. CPU temps are never over 50°C.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Hmm that's really weird. Have you tryed reinstalling BF3? Does it happen in all your games or just BF3 and Project Cars?

I don' play much other games at the moment but in Heaven Benchmark it did not occur. I will try Crysis 2 now.

Should I maybe try using older Nvidia drivers and see if the problem disappears?

First thing is to update the drivers to the newest version(296.10).. but if your running the latest try the last set you were using before if started to have issues. Also I would adjust the fan profile of the GTX 580 to keep the temps below 70C because if memory gets to warm it will artifact. After a period of time the gpu heatsink does get saturated with the heat from the gpu and will insulation the memory.

But one real way to see if your gpu is dying is put the gpu at stock speeds(if OC'ed) put the fan at 100% and run furmark or EVGA OC scanner for 15-20 minutes minutes and see if you get artifacts.

I don't think it's the driver. Had version 296.10 in the videos and did roll back to the previous WHQL drivers just now and the same glitch happened in crysis 2 after 30 mins of playing.

I will try EVGA OC Scanner now. Thanks.

Btw. I've had this GPU for only 3 months and usually it runs at 65°C, only under stress it goes very rarely over 70. The GPU was never overclocked.

your gpu should not get that hot during normal usage. try getting a can of compressed air and blow out any dust.

Happens to me a bit in Battlefield 3. Most of the time it happens when there is a vehicle in the air. Also happens with light sources. I don't know why it happens, but it happens from time to time.

With normal usage I meant gaming. In desktop it's at ~30°C.

I've run the EVGA OC scanner stress test for about 45 minutes now. So far it didn't count any artifacts.

Those temps are very good.

Have you tried any other games?

Nevermind, just seen that you have.

Usually that happens if your memory is too high clocked, try lowering it and see if it happens. (VRAM I am talking about), yes I realize you are not ocing

By how much should I lower the memory clock speed? Default is 2010 Mhz

I had a 7800gto that did that and it got progressively worse until it was unable to play games at all, so i would recommend RMA'ing it.

try 1900mhz, see if it occurs even if it does go away, you should still RMA because it shouldn't be doing this. See if they have advanced RMA because RMA is anoyying as balls

Well , it was on for 45 minutes and no artifacts, its not a temp issue, I would try downclocking the memory and if it stops that means that the memory is at fault. And you should RMA it.

Yeah I will definitely RMA it, tried 1950 just now and could play BF3 for two matches without problems but then all of a sudden when I entered a heli i got it really bad across the whole screen.

I'll also try the 480 GTX from my brothers build to make 100% sure it's my GPU thats causing the problem.

Thanks.
