Is my CPU bottlenecking my setup?

Hi All,

Quick question -- running a system the following:

socket AM2 AMD 64 3500+ @ 2.20Ghz

2 gig OCZ Platinum

BFG 8800 GTX

Do you think I'm not getting all I could out of the 8800 due to the cpu? Just debating an upgrade to a decent dual-core today.

Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

 the cpu i was eyeing is the x2 5200+, selling it for 282.49 across the street (CDN$). i was thinking the same thing, while it would be nice to have it now maybe i should wait a bit. i wanted to get a better processor when i upgraded last time -- but the upgrade was forced when my old system died and i didn't have the money to get it then. it does seem reasonable, considering some local retailers are still trying to sell the 5200 for 400$+ but i dunno :S

Yes that is an extreme bottleneck. Dual core would be the best way to go. :) good luck!
