I just finished building my first gaming PC. According my ASrock Z77 Extreme4 mobo's reading, my i-5 3570K is running around 37c -39c. I have this Cooler Master GeminII S524 cooler (its the best one I can find that actually fits in my case) and Arctic Silver AS5 thermal paste. Is my CPU temperature normal, or did I screw up somewhere?

Yeah, it was pretty hot today where I live. I'd like to get it as low as I can, should I get a better thermal paste and reapply it?

don't worry if seen people running theirs 110+c, processors today can take a hell of a beating.. under 40 is cold, to cold for my taste :)

Ah, ok. I'll check the load temps when I get home. I probably shoudl have mentioned that its running 37-39c when I have absolutely nothing running. As in, I just installed Windows 7 and that's the temperature its reading. So when I game on, would it jump too high? How hot is too hot?

That's idle temp, which is okay. I've seen lower, but it also depends on the temperature of your room. People who report lower probably live where there's real winter season. :-P You're absolutely fine. Don't worry.

Yeah, I live in NC., where it can get a little humid, and my I'dle temps are in the 17-19c . Usually at about 25c-40c under heavy gaming. I have mine clocked at 3.9ghz from stock 3.3, although I'm using a liquid cooler.

Yeah, that's fine. What is your average room temperature every day? Temperatures of your PC parts are dependent on how warm your room is.

My i5-3470 is running at 30°C under idle load and my room temperature ranges between 19°C to 22°C. I'm using a Corsair A50 cooler.

Thx. I'm using a fairly cheap, Thermaltake Performer 2.0 cooler($59). Does the job. I use Coretemp to monitor load and temps.
