Alright so I just recently bought and installed the EVGA Geforce GTX 560 Ti graphics card on my computer and I am not sure if it is running too hot or not. I am using the EVGA Precision application so here are some of the temps I am getting: At idle I am getting on average 36.0 degrees celcius. When I start playing Crysis, after about 45 minutes to an hour, I start to notice some bluish/green odd colors when I do things like quickly move the curser around or look down the scope of my weapon. After the movement is done the colors go away so its only for a split second that it does this. Also, I will look up at the sky in the game and see some big square polygons. When I minimize the game and immediately check my gpu temp. I see that its running at about 75c. Based off of some other forums and the evga website, 75c is listed as being fine and the card does have a max temp of 99c (I know you would never want it there though). So I am confused and was hoping I could get some opinions and feedback on whether my card is running too hot or if 75c is fine. If it is too hot, what are some things I could do to lower the temp? Would buying a better PSU help a lot? The card requires a minimum 500W PSU and that is what I am currently using so that might be an issue. If it is the PSU, than what are some good ones that I could buy that wouldn't cost anymore than about 80 dollars or so and would decrease the temperature of my gpu by a good amount? I really like what this card can do sothat makes me worried that I might be damaging it or something. The computeris in a relatively open space andIgave it a lot of area in the rear because the card also has a rear exhaust. Thanks in advance for any help!

75 degrees is pefectly fine. However those issues you are experiencing are not. Perhaps is a faulty card, i would contact EVGA.

Also does it do it in games besides Crysis? Try an equally stressing game and see what happens, could be game related.

For future posts try spacing it out instead of writing in one big paragraph, people will want to read it more.

Well theres a few things you can try before having to buy another psu. Your temps seem normal but Sometimes Crysis can have issues with video card drivers so make sure your running the lastest ones 266.58. Then I would download MSI afterburner to turn up your fan speed easily to see if it helps. Dont worry about it being MSI the program doesnot care what brand you have. Also to test to see if your card is stable is to download Furmark and run it for a good 20 minutes to see if your card and psu can handle the stress.

The EVGA Precision application also lets me manually change my fan speed. Would it be ok to use that instead of MSI afterburner? I have the most current driver as well which is 266.66. Maybe its just Crysis idk. Like Crypt_mx said above, I think I'm gonna try playing a different game like empire total war and just max out all the settings and play huge custom battles for like an hour and see if everything remains stable.

If you bought it off a website like Newegg.com, I would RMA it back and get a replacement or refund.

Evga precision works just fine too,

What would be a good fan percantage to manually move up to? Like 70% of the max fan speed or something?

70 percent is the max for most cards if you don't unlock it. For overclocking and what not for gpu it really doesn't matter why software you use. I used the basic stuff that came with my gpu and it worked great.

Heh, okay so I feel kinda dumb saying this but I figured out what I was getting this weird picture issues. I wasn't aware of it but I guess I had my monitor picture settings set to "dynamic contrast" and for response time I had it set to "Fastest". I realized it was a picture issue when today I booted Crysis up first thing after turning my computer on so everthing was as cool as can be and yet as soon as I loaded my game I immediately started seeing the picture issues. After changing my picture to custom settings and putting the response time on "normal" the picture issues immediately went away. I think I'm gonna try manually changing the fan to just constantly run at 70% when I'm playing games though cause I did notice the gpu temp's peaking out at like 79c-80c at some points during Crysis. Manually doing this to the fan settings isnt gonna risk messing anything up right?

Well you can just leave the fan speed at 70%, It wont hurt it, but you can download Nvidia tools and set up your gpu fan speed to go up as the temps go up.
