I've been experiencing lag with my xbox using a wireless adapter so I've been looking at my internet speed. I did a test on www.speedtest.net

I'm in Philadelphia and my isp is Comcast Cable, my download speed was .61Mb/s and my upload speed was .44 Mb/s.

I was wondering if my speed is good or bad, what is considered a good result for that test, and if my internet is terribly slow how do I upgrade it?

That's horrible, mine is 19mbps/2.58 also comcast in Florida connecting to Miami.

The only thing you can do to improve it is call them and have them check it out or find a different isp. Is your TV clear (assuming you use cable) if it isn't it's very likely it's just a horrible connection on your end and possibely repairable.

Also, do a ping test, I get 61ms latency, 2ms jitter, 2% packetloss wich is rated 'C' x.x.

My ping was 41ms T.T And my TV is perfectly fine. I always considered my internet to have decent speed, but I guess not. I'll give comcast a call

are you over comcast's 250GB monthly limit for the past 30 days?

Comcast will throttle your internet down if you transfer more then 250GB in a 30 day period.

They did this to help clean up the lines and stop people who run torrents and stuff all day. They say anyone who needs to transfer that much data in a 30 day period should have a business line.

http://www.comcast.net/terms/network/amendment/

I was happy when they did this because internet speed more then doubled once it was in place. (Went from 6-7Mb/s to 19-21Mb/s)

I have used 400 gigs in a month on Comcast's and I haven't been throttled.

That's really bad, unless you've got one of their 'light' plans (if they even offer such a thing). You should be getting a little less than your rated mb/s, or twice that amount if they offer a download boost. 0.6mb/s is only 75kB/s. I get 25mb/s down and 1 up, which is about right - it's rated at 15mb/s with a download boost. Is your cable hooked up through a really long run of cabling or hooked through a splitter?
