Is my temperature normal? Did I miss the correct amount of thermal paste?

I am using the Coolermaster 812 cooler, the one with the vertical vapor chambers and stuff.

Running at 100x40, undervolted with dynamic voltage -0.115v. Room temperature is 20 degrees. I cannot get a surface temperature because EVEREST doesn't support my motherbord (Gigabyte GX79-UP5 WiFi)

What I am concerned about is when I touch the cooler it's not even hot at the base, it's like warm at most. I'm not sure if this is normal or the core is just that much hotter than the base of the cooler?

you look fine, in the future, apply the thermal paste in a little square in the middle (solid square), the reason to do this is so that it spreads out itself when attaching an after-market fan or cooler. the cores are located in the middle of the chip, and the outer areas on the chip are just silicon, which dont need as much thermal paste because they can handle the heat better than metal does.

what i am talking about here is specific heat (all substances, when they reach a certain tempurature, start to pass excess heat onto other objects) Silicon has a higher specific heat then metal does. why do you think heat-sinks are made out of metal?
