Is my VGA Fan not mounted properly?

I'm using a hd4850 and I remember my temps got as high as 85c, and while idling it didn't pass the high 50's and now this thing idles at 63c and while in load it goes to an alarming temp of 100º (fan at 70%), could it be that my fan got badly placed in the first place (didnt build the pc, I just bought the parts and made a store put them together, dad's idea...) and now it got out of place or something? this is very frustrating since I can't play anything...

The 4850 is notorious for running extremely hot, your temps aren't that far off. If you would like to cool the card further, consider using an aftermarket cooler. Zalman make some nice ones and they are quiet too.tautitan123

You see I know that, they run extremely hot, but mine wasn't going to ridiculous 100º before that's why I'm asking if it being not mounted properly can cause that rising in the temps, it frustrates me cuz I bought this thing to play and I can't :@, and the stupid warranty won't let me open my case (ridiculous warranty policy from some store here),I'm getting a DuOrb this month, but still this is not normal, that temps suddenly start rising from where they were.

Ah I see, I though you had been having the problem since day 1 (now I read the first part of your post more thoroughly I realise this is not the case; my apologies). It is possible, though unlikely, that the fan may not be mounted properly as they are usually mounted fairly solidly. How long has the system been in the house? Does anyone smoke etc? It could be that your fan has become clogged with normal dust and fluff over time. Have you moved your case closer to a wall as it could be that the heat is not being effectively exhausted.tautitan123

like 2 months, noone smokes, it may have been clogged with dust since this **** case sucks, the pc is horizontally placed,like the back of it isn't near a wall, but since the warranty sucks I can't check any of this stuff, I would void the store warranty to do things on my own since the parts have warranty but I live in a country where sending stuff to the manufactorer is not an easy task, sigh I'm taking it to the store and putting a fan on the front and getting a duorb that should calm it.
