I mean it looks like grid and feels like it ,maybe I am wrong but from videos it looks that way.As you can see its been a long time since I have come back here.I have been busy and now I have some time for gaming (at least this weekend) so should I buy it .Is it good because from the videos it looks very one dimensional to me.If not please reccommend me some games and don't say re5.

As I haven't had a chance to play Grid yet, I have no idea how NFS-Shift compares to it. NFS-Shift is a fantastic racing game though, and I had basically all but given up on the franchise due to the poor quality of several of their previous releases. This one is definitely worth a grab in my opinion.

Videos? looks?

It has nothing to do with Grid, it does not look nor does it feel like Grid, the only thing that they have in common is a track or two, because they used real tracks.

Shift is a great game. If you liked GRID, you will like Shift as well.

The only reason it might look similar to GRID is because it's on-road racing.

As for how it feels, you can make it feel like GRID if you want, or you can make it feel more like GTR2 (or at least "GTR2 lite"). It depends on how you set up the driving aids.

I play in expert mode, no assists other than what the car comes with. I really like it, feel wise it kind of reminds me of the on road parts of Dirt 1. Lots of car sounds (whistles, rattles) and motion and feel from the road. I liked Grid too, but I didn't like the lack of modding and the sometimes unpredictable driving model. The graphics are very good too. Its a much better game to me than Grid.

There is a huge problem with ATI cards, but I personally love it with my g25, it's amazing going 250 kmh down a straight.

Shift has great in-car racing, but when you zoom it out, it plays like a crappy Grid. The handling on the cars is, well..... take the Shift title and remove the "f".

It runs absolutely fine on my 9800GTX+, so I suspect it's a problem with ATI cards.

Hi I have only played the demo a few times but it is kind

of tricky for me. I tend to loose traction on the curves and

go sliding into the corner. I am using a Logitech Dual Action

controller. As far as the graphics,in the demo I play it at

1680X1050 all max settings with 4AA. If I use 8AA the replay

movie gets a little bumpy here and there. Odd that the demo

runs better than the actual game?

Edit: I have an E6600 overclocked to 3.25Ghz and an HD 4870 512 Mb GPU.

its a good game. i personally think that grid is better, but it is still a good game. it doesnt look quite as good as grid and doesnt have the variety, but it does have customization.

I would say shift is the best NFS game since hot pursuit, its back to basics, and personally I love it, one of the few things EA did, give it to a developer who created good racing games in the past.

And im running a 8800GTS 512 (G92), with everything set on max including AA at full at 1920*1200, and I get a solid 45 frames, if anything, the graphics have been reduced, I thought it would run on a mix of medium/high, but im surprised I got everything at max. The default put everything at low, I think the auto config isa bit broken.

People are used to the old NFS, where you could rebound off walls and never use the break and finish first.... NFS Shift goes into a more realistic direction....where braking IS important....

sorry if i may sound rude or anything, i am not trying to be but that video card won't run much of any recent games that you probably want to play like Shift. It being a 64 bit memory interface and all. It has no sort of gaming or 3D capabilties worth mentioning.
