Is now a good time to buy a gaming laptop?

Given how fast technology changes these days, is now a good time to buy a new gaming laptop or would it be smart to wait until better stuff comes around?

Buying a gaming laptop is always a bad idea IMO. The only time someone has asked for advice on one and it was the best option were from guys in the military who were just gonna use it at base. For LAN parties they're good or if you move around a lot with your job and need to take your laptop with you. A gaming laptop is a portable desktop it's not suited for gaming on the go.

My friend has a good gaming laptop and it plays real smooth on Left 4 Dead. Maybe if you can wait until laptops with DX11 graphic cards come out, laptops with DX10 can be even less expensive
