Is NOW a good time to upgrade?

I'm seeing all these games come out with these shiny new graphics. Now my comp is becoming very dated so is 2008 a good time to upgrade or should I wait a few more months into 2009 when hopefully these hd quality games will stop coming out in consecutive titles and such. BTW i have a comp built and is $1000 USD including the " meat " + monitor + mouse and keyboard + OS.

You have it already ordered? Or you just plan on getting it? I think you should wait till next year to get a cheaper and better video card.gs_gear

waiting till next year to get a cheaper better video card/eveything else. i really am trying not to breakover 1k but i want to see what other people think.

Prices are cheap on lots of recently (last 4-6months) released mid to high-end piece's of hardware that can run any game out there now or in the near future......even at a budget of around a grand, you should be able to put together a very nice system including the OS and a good case, but not including your keyboard, mouse and monitor if you want to have hardware that will carry you without having to upgrade again for a while..... Because prices are low for all kinds of quality components, I think now is a very good time if your thinking of upgrading.

Crysis, Crysis Warhead(and Crysis Wars), Farcry 2, Stalker 2, Spore, Left 4 Dead, Diablo3, Starcraft 2, etc..

Not to mention PC parts are pretty cheap at the moment, nows a good time to buy imo.
