Now my backround consits of both console and PC gaming since I was a kid. And for the longest time I constanly refered to the PC as the place for real games and hardcore gamers which is still true. But now with the the xbox 360 advancing the FPS genre that was the PCs strong point and the market leaning more towards consoles, is the PC getting forgoten by some major companys or is it just a little break before the big bang of PC gaming and games. IS PC gaming becoming more and more subjected to only MMORPG(WoW with over 6 million) and RTS rather than MMO RTS and FPS. Did consoles takes the FPS away from PC gaming and will they soon take more away. Is PC gaming dying?
There needs to be a rule against making these threads. They spawn in here every day or so. And no, no it's not...and I'm not going to even bother gracing you with the evidence.
I implore you guys to do a search and stop starting a new PC and death thread everyday. Please!
And no, PC gaming will not die, it was alive to a small dedicated community when everyone was playing Atari then Nintendo, it will alive in the future even if it has to return to a small, dedicated community again. Until home entertainment changes on an epic scale where everything is done through your TV and nothing resembles a console or a PC anymore, I think we are safe.

/agree. I believe a real pc gamer would never even think that pc gaming is dying, so I consider these threads, that pop every weeks or so, as trolling.
PC Gaming isn't dying and will never die. PC gaming is doing better than ever. 360 isn't doing anything for the FPS genre. I don't think there's one FPS for the 360 that I played for longer than 20 hours. Then over here I have CS:S which I spent 600 hours on. The PC is still superior in every way and it'll be that way for awhile.
Well if Nvidia and ATI advertised and got pc gaming out a little more than it would be huge IMO. Its sad I am the only one in my high school that games on a pc and really thats sad because they think the PS3 and 360 are more powerful. Brainwashed consolites :roll:

Give me one example of a 360 FPS that has advanced the genre and I will sell my PC and paypal you the money.
If anything, the 360 has degraded the FPS genre into simplicity. Duck and shoot, duck and shoot. That's all 360 FPS games have become. It also took an amazing and advanced tactical shooting series and turned it into an action game that is cheesy, stupid, contrived, boring, unrealistic, etc.
