I have placed my front left and right speakers pretty close to the monitor cuz my desk is pretty small. But sometimes when i am listening to music on very loud volume and the monior starts to strangly ficker and when i lower the volume it stops doing that.So i wanna know whether it's bad for my monitor.

shouldnt be bad for it provided your speakers are magnetically shielded which most desktop speakers are. Do you have a subwoofer maybe the bass is causing the flicker

Are you using a CRT? I used to have that problem on a CRT as well... pretty much stopped since going to an LCD now. :P

I've seen that flicker happen to CRT monitors when I was listening to music using a completely separate system on the other side of the room and plugged into another power outlet. I think it more likely has to do with the amount of power drawn at loud volumes, especially when there's a good amount of bass in the music. A powerful enough set of computer speakers plugged into the same outlet / surge protector could explain what you're seeing.

Ya i have the speakers and monitor in the same power outlet. But this flickering does not happen when i separate the 2 front speakers far from the monitor. However this only happens when i am listening to music and it does not bother me at all cuz i am not actually not using the computer at that time.If it's not bad for the monitor then i have no problems with this.

It could be a combination of all reasons listed. The sounds waves, the power drain and the magnectic field generated by the speakers. The vibration from the speakers could be jarring internal components or lose wires.

The flickering is mostly cause of the internal compenets of your CRT monitor shaking. It is mostly likely shaking the electron tube in it, which cause the flickering at high volume levels. Its somethin you really shouldnt be conerned about. But Ill at least keep the speakers a fair ditance from the monitor just in case.
