Is the 8600gt 70 bucks better than the 8500gt?

I wanna get a dx10 card for as cheap as possible but could someone tell me how these two cards could play some of the popular games out with a 3200+ 2gh, and 2 gigs of ram. Thanks for your time.

Everyone here will say "GET THE 8800GTX!! AGDGHSDJEGTY%#WH" I say the 8600GT is a great cheap DX10 solution it's on par with the 7600GT and better and therefor is pretty good

what is your budget?dbowman

as cheap as possible...id like to be under 100 but if the extra money will be a really big performance boost i could find some extra cash if its really good though

Its best bang for your buck thing primarily when it came to the 8600 gts, spend a paltry extra amount and you got yourself a better card that utterly destroys the 8600 gts.

8500GT's are 80-130$ and 8600GT's are 160-200$ I reccomend waiting and saving for a 8600GT cause the 8500GT's dont have many pipelines and are slower and prolly wont be usefull for DX10 very much but 8600's are
