I assume you are looking at the standard, non- customized model.

Basically, it has a good graphics card (pretty much all games high or very high @ 1600x1200 or lower) but the processor is weak. Couple that with the fact that it only has 2gb of Ram, with 4gb coming in @ and extra £77, I would not go for it at all. However, Dell systems and Alienware systems (owned by Dell) are always quite high quality. As a matter of fact, I am typing this on a Dell XPS 430 as I write this.

See my sig for a review on it, I bought it only last month. At the time it cost me £600, but I got; 4850, Q8200, 3gb DDR3 and a X48 mobo. I recommend you look into it (and my review!).

Alienware and worth it do not go together. For 700 bucks you can get a very powerful system if you build it yourself.

No prebuilt gaming machine is worth the money when you can build your own.

They are worth the money when you dont have the time knowledge willpower to build and tune one yourself.

For alienware itself, compare it too other boutique shops.

Sorry to get picky but you forgot the HDD. So say $800.00 if you don't need a monitor, KB & M, or speakers.

http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/desktop-xps-430?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn Its up to £670 now, so it isn't as sweet a deal it was when I bought it (£600). Take a look at; www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk. They do great pre-builts.
