Is the Bad Company 2 patch worth it?

I was thinking of getting back into the game but apparently the patch is 1GB and it still hasn't fixed the knife!

I heard that if you try to use the knife it actually stabs you the player instead!

Is the patch worth downloading?! Is it worth it just for the hilarity of the self-inflicting knife?!

fixed the hit-boxes and most connection related lag (rubber banding etc.), the rest of the changes aren't terribly significant. I just started playing again today and its been good so far.

I believe they got a new chat log to. You can see what the person wrote before without going away, and you can write more. It's kinda like Counter Strike Source chat.
