It will be OK but to be frank it's quite dated at this point. Hopefully your monitor isn't 1080 or something :P

It still runs fairly well, but its getting old now so hopefully you didnt pay too much for it when there are more powerful options for relatively cheap.

If you player at 1680X1050 it would be a fine card for a budget, however these days there are probably better deals for a little more cash, although a 9800GT would do most people fine.

If you use the unofficial fix for new vegas you should be fine. I'm guessing Civ 5 should be fine too. Depending on your resolution. What resolution do you use?

Yeah fallout should be fine with that. I don't play CIV5 but I'd expect it to be fine too. Enjoy your gaming :D

You'll be able to run a whole scala of games with a 9800GT, just not with all the whistle and bells. First of all because the card is 'only' DirectX 9, secondly because of the smaller amount of dedicated RAM the card has (usually 512MB, although there's 1GB versions). With DirectX 11 (with its Hardware Tessalation for more detailed rendering of objects) really getting implemented, only NVidia GTX400/500 and ATI 5000/6000 series will support those whistle and bells. But, as an introduction to gaming, the GT9800 is very nice... ;)

Oops... my mistake. :( It's a DX10.0 card as opposed to 10.1 for the GTX200 series...
