Is the HD4850 faster than a 8800GTX?

IF its faster than a 9800GTX it must be faster than a 88000GTX right?

The 9800GTX is about 5% faster than the 8800GTX in most benchmarks.

And since the 4850 is about 5% faster than the 9800GTX we can say its faster than the 8800gtx.

edit: If you own a 8800gtx and want to upgrade to a 4850 dont even think about it, the performance difference its so small that doesnt even make it worth it.

Then yeah go for a 4850, it will be a huge upgrade.

I have a MSI 8800GT OC 512mb but i have a budget that can afford a Sapphire HD 4850 1Gb Vapor-X. Is this an upgrade or should i stick with the former? Any help is appreciated.

get a 4870 if you must upgrade, its about the same price as a one gig 4850.

i got the 9800gtx+ ,actually i want to buy hd4850 at first,but just the mirro's edge relesed,so bought the 9800gtx+,because it has the physicsX.lol
