Hello

I know there must be a load of topics on this, but i have a couple of questions i need answering.

I was considering buying the Samsung 226BW until i heard about the lottery. Apparently the C panel is most common nowadays.

I also noticed another monitor; the Samsung 226CW. I've heard this monitor is the same except for the addition of "Wide Colour Gamut"

But i also heard a rumor that this version of the monitor guarantees you an S panel; can anyone confirm this?

If the rumor isnt true and the C panel is the most common, is there a viable alternative 22" for ~ £250?

Any feedback would be absolutely brilliant!

Samsung Monitors are very good quality. I am very pleased with my 940BW. Unfortunately I have no information on your monitor.

I played this lottery back in October. Ordered the 226BW from Newegg during a rebate deal, and happened to get an S. And this was after reading some reviews of people who complained about problems with theirs, and not getting an S panel. As you may have realized I'm in the States, so I couldn't begin to guess which panel might be more common elsewhere. Heck, I couldn't even make that guess here. All I know is this: Over time I have been the happy owner of 6 different Samsung products, every single one of them S panels. All but one of them (which I no longer own) was ordered online and shipped to me, so I had no idea whether I was getting an S or not. Every single one of them was exactly what I expected or better, and that includes my 40" 1080p LCD TV (also an S).

Thats reassuring, thanks.

Does anyone have any info on the 226CW? I can get it for just £30 ($60) more and if its guaranteed an S panel, that would be great.

Does anyone own a 226CW?

Thanks for any feedback.
