Is the Radeon hd 3870 still good

im looking to get a cheap card and i found this for a good price, but im wondering if its still a good card

im trying to decide between the 3870 and the nvidia 9800gtx+

Well the 8800GT beats out the 3870, and the 9800GTX+ beats out the 8800GT... i'd go with the 9800. However if you have a crossfire board, you should definately look into ATI's 4000 series, as there are some great cards

I've got a 3870, Its not a bad card-it can run bioshock, TF2, medieval2: total war, etc. on max. but on crysis it can only run on medium settings with a few hitches, and empire total war can run medium-medium/high fairly well. I'm having troubles updating the drivers for it though....>_>

It's a pretty weak card, and I consider my hd3870x2 pretty outdated :o Then again I game at 1920x1080...

yeah cause i was leaning towards the 3870 because it was 85$, but hopefully the 9800gtx will go down in price soon

which 3870 is it theyve got a few out but most 3870s are better than 4670

yeah cause i was leaning towards the 3870 because it was 85$, but hopefully the 9800gtx will go down in price soon

for that price get a 9600gt or 4830 both of which are more powerful then the the 3870 and after rebates cost less :O and if u can afford it get a 4850 as its better then a 3870x2 :shock:

It's a good card for sure... also look into the GTS250

It's a good card for sure... also look into the GTS250
