Okay, I want to play a game that give you the control of a hero, but at the same time a army.

So far I found 2.
-King Arthur
-Warcraft 3
-BFME2
-Warhammer 40k DOW2

I liked Warcraft, but I played it for a while and now its boring. I played BFME2 for 2 Years, it's enough. King Arthur is just a terrible game. Huge amount of armies, but nothing special. You can't see the hero, or anything. Very boring. WH was okay, but I didn't click with the game. I don't know why.

So is there a game like these?

Spellforce I & II is a RPG+RTS. You can controlyour character in 3rd Person View while you build stractures and give orders to your army with a Top Down View.

This. S2 still looks good.

Spellforce. If you are looking for more action and better graphics, go Company of Heroes

This. Spellforce 2 is also apparently getting a 2nd expansion too.

Battle for Middle Earth comes to mind my friend, you can control Aragorn, Legolas, Gandalf, and still have an army..Playing in Isengard with all the heroes and a bunch of archers was quite epic...

I was thinking Demigod, while you don't exactly control your army, you have control over your hero on a battlefield while a huge battle is going on.

have you checked "heroes of might and magic" or "king's bounty" series ? they look alike. they are basically roleplaying games with a hero on the main map. and during battles you fight with your army and your hero supports them with spells or some attacks. they're a bit similar to king arthur in the way you handle your hero(s) on the main map but you would probably like it better than king arthur. the battles are really different though, lower scale and turn based.

ahh very true, this one totally slipped my mind but it's a great example of this type of game. I'd say go with heroes of might and magic series.

Warhammer: Mark of Chaos may fit the bill. You play as a hero, but you control an army. The Chaos version has a pretty cool story, involving allying yourself with one of the Chaos Gods, which may change your appearance and such. There are also some missions where it's just you without your army. I never finished it, like most games I have, but it was still fun :) Also within the game, the two heroes ofthe opposing teams can meet up and have a hero battle that also affects morale, I think.

I actually played the Empire in the full version because I really like muskets, but the main character is kind of a goof. So that's probably why I lost interest. I believe the expansion also lets you play an Ork campaign.

I can't think of a strategy game that does heroes quite as well as the Warlords Battlecry series.

Check out Warlords Battlecry 3, which is currently $7 on gog.com.

I absolutely hated that game. Completely shallow gameplay and was just bad all around. I sold it a month after I got it.

Yeah, I'd say it's a love it or hate it type of game. Has many fans and many haters :) I personally enjoyed the mix of strategy and RPG, without all the micromanagement and base-building typically associated with RTS games.
