go for the card that gets best performance in the games you play, it can also depend on the engine.
well, in the performance order: GTX 295; followed by the 285, the 4870 X2 tends to be around 285 performance, then the GTX 280 ,then is the 4870 1 gb, and then, very close, the 55 nm 216 shader GTX 260GTR2addict
u are kidding me 4870 x2 is way better than gtx 285 i think even a 4850 x2 can beat the gtx 285
