Are there any games for PC where you can talk to other people while playing?

like the poster above me stated there are plently mmo's out there. somehow I still cant justify paying a monthly fee for server maintenance and other services even though its usually only 14 bucks. hmm I wonder if anyone is looking forward to the World of Darkness mmo thats coming out in 4 or 5 years. =P I know its a ways off but I'll pay for that one if its any good. it's set in the recreation of the old world of darkness universe. you may have played the old universe in Vampire Bloodlines, which had its problems, more specifically the unfortunate sharing of a release date of half-life 2 to name the biggest, but was a solid rpg(after the patch of course)and represented the table top version of the game decently enough to keep players interested. eh the mmowill only ship with mortal characters and I guess we'll have to pay for the vampire, werewolf, and other supernatural templates but look forward to some incredible depth there. wow I went on about that didnt I? =P

I would say LOTRO is the nearest to WoW. GW is also great but community is weak in that game.
